Congratulations to Ann Marie and Pauric Brennan, Ardara on the birth recently in Letterkenny Hospital, of their third child, a little sister for Oisin and Lorcan. Ann Marie is a daughter of Leo and Annette Mc Loone, Main St. Glenties.

Congratulations and best wishes for many more healthy and happy years to Andy Doherty, The Rock and formerly of The Wood, Glenties who celebrated his 90th Birthday recently.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the wife, family, relatives and friends of Francie Mc Loone, Dr. Mc Closkey Crescent, Glenties who died on Monday 26th May 2003 in Letterkenny Hospital.

The death took place in Birr, Co. Offaly on Wednesday 14th May 2003 of Eileen Loftus, formerly Mc Loone, Lugnagillew, Glenties. Her husband and two daughters survive her. Six brothers, John, Lugnagillew, Pat, Cleengort, Hugh, Donegal Town, James, Galway, Donal, Monaghan, Fr. Francis, Letterkenny and one sister, Nabla Mc Carthy, Galway also survive her. Sincere sympathy is extended to them and to her uncles, Frank Gallagher, Main Street, John Gallagher, Strasallagh, aunts, Kathleen Boyle, Shallogans, Glenties, Annie T. Dunleavy, Ballybofey, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the parents, grandparents, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends of Amanda Molloy, daughter of Pat and Ann Molloy, Kingarrow, Fintown, who died on Friday 16th May 2003.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Una Boyle, Ard Patrick, Joan Mc Nelis, Derries and Gerry Byrne, Ard Patrick, Glenties on the death of their aunt, Annie Wall, formerly Byrne, Upper Kilraine, who died recently in Australia; also to her sister-in-law, Teresa Byrne, Kilraine and to all her relatives and friends.

Congratulations to the group of 4th year students who got through to the finals of the “Form & Fusion Design Awards” in Millstreet, Co. Cork last weekend. Their costume (made of recycled materials) was one of the 32 finalists out of 1500 entries, and the only Donegal entry to reach the finals. Many of their teachers, fellow students and families travelled to Cork to support them.

The marriage of Margaret Mc Gill and Brian Gildea took place in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Saturday 3rd May 2003. Fr. Patrick Prendergast officiated and celebrated Nuptial Mass. Margaret is a daughter of Jimmy and Bella Mc Gill, Ard Mc Gill, Glenties and Brian is a son of Tony and Kathleen Gildea, London (both natives of Glenties). Her father gave the bride away and her sister, Carol Mc Gill, cousin, Carol Gibbons and friends Michelle Mc Glynn and Grainne Boyle attended her. The groom’s twin brother, Roger was bestman. His cousin Kevin Brannigan, the bride’s brother, Patrick and a friend, Paul Lynch were groomsmen. Molly and Ruarí Gildea, the groom’s niece and nephew, were flowergirl and pageboy. Readings were by Paul Gildea and Karen Deen brother and sister of the groom. Margaret Lee, Veronica Laughlin, Elaine Gallagher, Christopher Brannigan and Brian Mc Guigan read Prayers of the Faithful. Both mothers brought the Gifts to the Altar. The reception was held in the Highlands Hotel, Glenties.

Congratulations to Angeline and John Ashworth, Shankill, Dublin on the birth on Sunday 4th May, of their second child, a baby sister for Sean. Angeline is a daughter of Noel and Bridie Conefry, Mill Road, Glenties.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Rose Mc Swiggan, Gortnasillagh, Glenties on the death of her mother, Annie O’Donnell, Kilmacrennan, which took place on the 30th March 2003. Mrs. O’ Donnell spent a number of years in Gortnasillagh with Rose and her family.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Denise Boyle, Meenahalla, Glenties on the death of her mother, Mary Brennan, Ardara which took place on Wednesday 4th May 2003; also to her husband, Frankie and to all the family, relatives and friends.

Congratulations to Tara and Damien Mc Devitt, Kilraine on the birth recently in Letterkenny Hospital, of their first child, a baby boy.

Congratulations to Yvonne and Hugo Doherty, Station Road, Glenties on the birth in Letterkenny Hospital, of their first child, a baby girl, on Friday 2nd May 2003.

Congratulations to Margaret Mc Gill, Ard Mc Gill, Glenties and Brian Gildea, London who were married in Glenties on Saturday last.

On Saturday 26th April 2003 John Browne and Patricia Mc Cabe were married in St. Mary’s Church, Frosses. John is a son of Charlie and Ann Browne, Dr. Mc Closkey Crescent, Glenties and Patricia is a daughter of Pat and Bried Mc Cabe, Binbane. Fr. John Mc Loone officiated and celebrated Nuptial Mass. Her father gave the bride away and she was attended by her cousin, Christine Maher, sister-in-law, Linda Mc Cabeand Mary Browne, sister of the groom. Richard Pereton, brother-in-law of the groom was bestman. Frankie Craig, friend of the groom and Brian Mc Cabe, brother of the bride were groomsmen. Kirsty Gallagher was a flowergirl and Joshua Pereton and James O’Neill were pageboys. Readings were by Annie O’Donnell, cousin of the groom and Laura Cosgrove, cousin of the bride. Fiona Lavelle, Irene Campbell, Patricia Earley and Marie Mc Cabe read Prayers of the Faithful. Both mothers brought the Gifts to the Altar. The reception was held in the Highlands Hotel, Glenties and the honeymoon was spent in Lanzarote.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Annie Boyle, Station Road, Glenties on the death of her brother, Cormac Wright, (formerly of Fintown), which took place in Glasgow on Friday 2nd May 2003.

Congratulations to John Browne, Dr. Mc Closkey Crescent, Glenties and Patricia Mc Cabe, Binbane, who were married in Frosses on Saturday last.

Congratulations to Nini and Sean Doherty, New York on the birth recently of their first child, a baby girl. Sean is a son of John and Nellie Doherty, Ard Mc Gill, Glenties.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Eileen Mc Cahill, Derries on the death of her sister Mary Weedon, Common, Ardara, which took place in Sligo Hospital on Friday 25th April, and who was buried in Ardara on Sunday.

The death took place on Saturday 22nd March 2003, in Letterkenny Hospital, of Neil Ward, Meenaleenaghan, Glenties. He was waked at his daughter’s home in Glenswilley and his remains were then taken to the Church of the Holy Family, Edeninfagh. Fr. Patrick Prendergast P.P. Glenties assisted by Fr. Martin Timony C.C. Aran Mór concelebrated Requiem Mass. Readings at Mass were by granddaughter, Louise Mc Daid and daughter, Breege Deryko. Burial took place in Edeninfagh Graveyard. Predeceased by his wife, Rosie, the deceased is survived by two daughters, Grace Mc Daid, Glenswilly and Breege Deryko, New Jersey, U.S.A. sons-in-law, Sean Mc Daid and Todd Deryko, grandchildren, Emma, Louise and Bryan Mc Daid, Keista and Brianna Deryko, other relatives and friends to whom sincere sympathy is extended.
