There is a photo on the Internet with some of the boys school with teachers Miss Kennedy, Miss Brennan, headmaster Charlie McDyre and others. Wondering what year did they travel to Dublin. Late 1950’s or early 1960’s.

hello Leon! It must have been 1961 or 1962, as I was on it! Let me know where I can find the Photo in Internet and I may be able to say it more exact. I remember that Charlie clouted me in front of Woolworths, because I came out the wrong door!

Hi Ray, no doubt we know each other. I came across it in Facebook and once there I typed in Johnny Boyle Glenties. I recognize some of those faces but trying hard to identify others. Good luck.Cool

Indeed it might have been the pioneer meeting back in 1958. There was The Eucharistic Congress meeting in 1962 in Croke Park. I think that particular photo was taken in Croke Park (Canal End). I hope Ray got a trupenny ice cream when he was in Woolworth’s. It would be a nice idea if the photo could be seen on Glenties.ie because of historical, sporting, religious and cultural reasons.

If someone could share a link to the photograph or email it to info@glenties.ie then we’ll get it up on the site for everyone to see
