QuoteI am researching my greatgrandparents who are recorded on 1901 and 1911 census. I wonder is there any record of burial plots in the old graveyard in The Glen as I would like to locate their graves if possible. I have looked at the existing headstones but they are not on those. Also if anyone else is looking at this family by way of tracing their ancestors I have quite a bit of anecdotal information ab-out them.
It is quite possible that they are buried in Kilkenny graveyard which would have been in use in their day. It is located on the shores of Gweebarra Bay and may of the local people were buried there.
Thanks Mary -I didn't know there was a graveyard there. My grandfather was a Monitor at Kilkenny National School before he went to St Pat's teacher training college in Dublin to train. I wonder are there are records of burials in either of the graveyards? I doubt that they would have headstones. I am obliged to you for replying. Angela

OfflineI am searching my family tree. I cannot help you with graveyards but I think Isabella Molloy is a sister of Bridget Molloy. others in the family include charles, rosena, mary and as far as I know a son or brother of bridget molloys was shot on glenties bridge in the 1920\'s
