Glenties Notes 11th April 2013

Wedding Bells:
Congratulations to Derek Molloy, Mullanmore, and Aisling Gillespie, Kilcar who were married on Saturday last in Kilcar. Derek is a son of Gerry and Martina Molloy, Mullanmore, Glenties.

New Arrival:
Congratulations to Lorraine and Sean Mc Loone, Straboy, Glenties on the birth of their second child, a baby sister for Sean Óg.

Sympathy:
Sincere sympathy is extended to Cathal Donaghue and family, Glenties on the death recently of Cathal’s mother, Kate Donaghue, Glencolmcille. Kate lived on Main Street Glenties for a number of years before moving to Donegal to live with her daughter.

Sincere sympathy is extended to his wife, Mary, family, relatives and friends of Francie Breslin, Kilraine, Glenties, who died on Saturday 6th April and was buried in Kilraine Graveyard on Monday.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the family, all the relatives and friends of Sally Given, who died in London last week Sally was formerly Keeney from Tullyhoniver, Kilraine, Glenties and she was married to the late Tom Given from Main Street Glenties.

Strictly Come Dancing:
St. Columba’s Comprehensive School, Glenties, presents “Strictly Come Dancing” on Friday 19th April. Show commences at 8 p.m. sharp. Doors open at 7 p.m. Admission; Adults – €10; Students and OA Ps € 7. un – reserved seating.

Collection:
The Annual Church Gate Collection for the ‘Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind’ taken up on the weekend 16th / 17th March in Glenties, Fintown, Kilclooney and Edeninfagh amounted to € 1, 000. The Molloy Family would like to say a Heartfelt Thank You to everyone who supported this very worthy cause.

“Do This In Memory”:
The Parish Based Preparation Programme for First Holy Communion called ~“Do This In Memory” will continue next Sunday – 14th April at 11 a.m. Mass.

Bingo:
The winners at the Bingo in the Community Centre, Glenties on Tuesday 2nd April were – € 25 winners – Annie Deane, Helen Mc Dyre, May Kennedy, Nora Gallagher, Kathleen Boyle, Nora O’Donnell, Patricia Molloy, Loreto O’ Brian, Roisin Harkin, and Stephen Jordan; € 50 winners – Terence Breslin, Mark Mahon, Rosemary Whelan, Daithi McGill, Margaret Murray and Loretta O’Brian; €100 winners – Kathleen Gallagher, Danny Sweeney, Mickey Herron, Carol Sweeney, Mary Kennedy, Moya Gallagher, Nora Gallagher, Sarah McGlynn and Lorraine Brennan; €300 winner – Anne Timoney; €40 winner – Cathy Connell.

Glenties Community Centre:
Bingo every Tuesday night at 9 p.m. Every Line € 50, every House €100. Jackpot, if not won, it will be € 6,000 on Tuesday 16th April. If not won € 300 will be paid out. In-house draws.

Snooker:
Snooker Room opened from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. daily except Tuesday. It closes at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. On Saturday and Sunday – Snooker Room opened from 12.noon to 10 p.m.
