Sympathy
Sincere sympathy is extended to Sadie Sweeney and family on the death of Sadie’s sister Margaret Minahan, Co. Clare, which took place on Saturday 9th October 2010; also to all the other relatives and friends.

Foot Health Practitioner
Margaret Connell, Foot Health Practitioner will visit Glenties Day Centre on Friday 15th October.  For appointment contact Margaret at 087 1417180.

Annual Christmas Lights Fancy Dress Ball
The big night to help light up Glenties for Christmas is coming near.  The Highlands Hotel has generously made their premises available again this year and it is hoped you will all be there to give your support and make it the success it has always been.  Since it started in 1999 it has been the main fundraiser for the Lights and it takes place on Sunday 24th October.

Cash for Clobber
Scoil Mhuire N.S. Glenties is having a ‘Cash for Clobber’ collection on Thursday 21st October.  Filled bags (bin liner size) can be brought to the school from Monday 18th.  This is a good way to get rid of unwanted clothing, paired shoes, curtains, linens, old handbags and belts and is in keeping with the ‘Green Schools Initiative’.  The school will receive € 4 for each well filled bag, which will go towards school funds.  Your contributions are greatly appreciated.  For further information please contact the school at 074 9551521.

Glenties Playgroup / Afterschool
New Afterschool Club now opened.  Home Work Club, Stained Glass, Cooking and T-Shirt Printing.  Various Indoor / Outdoor Games and Activities are also available.  To book call 9551907 (Detailed brochure of activities in local shops).  Price per hour session € 1.70 (Discounted Price) € 3.40 full price.

Playschool
If your child was born between 2nd February 2006 and 30th June 2007, Free Playschool places are still available for morning session.  For further information contact Bridie on 9551907.

Afterschool Programme of Activities for the month of October
We are open to all children in Glenties and the surrounding areas.  School Pick-up at 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. from Scoil Mhuire.  Substantial snack provided on arrival i.e. sandwich, yogurt or fruit, drink and biscuits.  Price per hour session as above.  Monday 11th – Home Work Club 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.  Tuesday 12th – Arts and Craft for Halloween (Masks and Scratch Art Decorations).  Wednesday 13th – Home Work Club 3 p.m – 4 p.m.  Thursday 14th – Indoor Sports in local Gym.  Friday 15th – Cooking Homemade Brownies.  Monday 18th – Home Work Club 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.  Tuesday 19th Cooking Halloween Treats.  Wednesday 20th Home Work Club 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.  Thursday 21st Indoor Sports in Local Gym.  Friday 22nd Halloween Disco for all children in Glenties area 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
