The Late Breege Nuelen (Campbell)
The death took place suddenly last week of Breege Nuelan, New York, formerly Campbell of Church Road, Glenties. She is survived by her husband, Dick, son Barry and daughter, Brenda, brother Neil, Dungloe, sisters, Evelyn, Letterkenny and Peg, Dublin, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to whom sincere sympathy is extended. Her sisters Kathleen and Maura predeceased her.

Bingo
The winners at the Bingo in the Community Centre, Glenties on Tuesday 6th September were – Donal Brennan won the Jackpot of € 400. Emma Sweeney, Norah Mc Hugh, Dim Melly, Anne O’ Donnell, Sandra Moore and Bernie Mc Devitt won € 100. Maureen Gildea, Fiona Boyle, Sally Mc Guigan, Patsy Martin, Majella Boyle, Helen Mc Dyre, Shaun Maloney, Breege Roarty, Mary Doherty, Mary Doherty, Teresa Mc Kelvey, Kathleen Boyle, Marie Boyle, Lisa Coughlan, Gracie O’ Hara and Gallagher won € 50 each. Denis O’ Donnell, Annie Kennedy and James Gallagher won € 35 each. James Pick, Donal Brennan, Majella Boyle and Johnny O’ Donnell won € 25 each.
Bingo every Tuesday night in the Community Centre at 9 p.m. sharp. Jackpot € 400 House €100 and Line €50.

Snooker
Play snooker every night except Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Glenties Community Centre.

Graduation
Congratulations to Breidin Boyle, who graduated last week from N.U.I. Maynooth, with an Honours Degree in Maths and Music. Breidin is a daughter of Hugh and Mary Ita Boyle, Glen Road, Glenties.

Sympathy
Sincere Sympathy is extended to Bríd Gavigan, Narin Road, Glenties on the death of her uncle, Dan Rodgers, Kerrytown, which took place recently.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the relatives and friends of Bridget Mc Dermott, Edeninfagh, Glenties, who died at her home on Sunday last.

Fire Fighting Training Day
The Donegal Civil Defence is holding a One Day Auxiliary Fire Fighting Training Day in Glenties Fire Station next Sunday 18th September from 10 a. m. until 2 p.m. On the day, trained fire fighters will be present to demonstrate the skills required to deal with gorse fires, flooding and general fire fighting. For more information or to register for participation contact Edel Flynn, Civil Defence Officer, Donegal County Council on 074 9175665. If sufficient interest is shown in the Glenties area, Civil Defence will deliver the full fire fighting course over the winter months free of charge. Training is open to anyone aged 18 years or over.

Night Classes in St. Columba’s Comprehensive School
Classes start on Tuesday 27th September from 7.30 to 9.30p.m. Enrolment is on Monday 19th September from 7 to 8 p.m. The following courses are on offer – Beauty Therapy, Skin Care, Make-Up, Manicure, Pedicure (4 weeks), Beginners Guitar (8 weeks), Computers (beginners and intermediate) (8 weeks), Conversational French and Irish (4 weeks), How to use your Digital Camera (4 weeks), ECDL, (8 weeks), Drumming and Percussion (8 weeks), Health & Safety in Workplace (8 weeks), Junior Cert Maths for adults (8 weeks), make home DVDs (4weeks), Patchwork (8 weeks), Payroll – Manual and Computerised (8 weeks), Pilates 8 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. (8 weeks), Quick and Simple French Cookery (4 weeks) and Kettlebell Toning Class 8 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. (8 weeks).

St. Columba’s Comprehensive School Gym
St. Columba’s Comprehensive School Gym will re-open to the public from Monday19th September. It is available for Ladies Indoor Soccer, Basketball, Gaelic, Uni-hoc and Badminton. There will also be Keep Fit Classes. The Fitness Suite will also be open to the public on a membership or pay as you go basis. For further information ring 9551172 or 086 1020471.

West Coast Cormorants Swimming Club
This year we hope to start swimming lessons in Ballyshannon Leisure Centre once again. We aim to offer affordable swimming lessons to the children of the area. We intend to run the classes in conjunction with the Dolmen Centre in Portnoo. Depending on the response, lessons should begin shortly. To get an idea of numbers, please register any interested child aged 7 or over with the Dolmen Centre on 9545879, giving your name, address and phone number. Deadline for registration is Friday 23rd September.
