The Late Packie Mc Dyer
The death took place in Letterkenny Hospital on Monday 7th November 2011 of Packie Mc Dyer, Derries, Glenties. His Remains were brought to his son James’s home on Glen Road on Tuesday and to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Thursday morning. Fr. Shane Gallagher celebrated Requiem Mass at 11 a.m. Family members did the Readings, Prayers of the Faithful and brought the Gifts to the Altar. Music and singing were by Kevin Herron, Anne Mc Dwyer and Breidín Boyle. Burial took place in the New Graveyard. Packie is survived by his wife, Annie, daughter Rosaleen, sons, Thomas, Conal, James and John, sisters Nan Harkin and Barbara Breslin, brother James, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends to whom sincere sympathy is extended. His brother Thomas J. predeceased him in August of this year, his sister Sally in September 2009 and a baby brother died in infancy.
Bingo
The winners at the Bingo in the Community Centre, Glenties on Tuesday 8th November were – Mary Gallagher, Portnoo won the Jackpot of € 400. Mary Furey, Mary Mc Gill, Hugh Gallagher, Mary Boyle, Burtonport, May Kennedy, Kilraine, Norah Gallagher, and M. Gillespie won € 100 each. Sadie Sweeney, Nancy Mc Gill, Margaret Melly, Maggie O’ Donnell, Margo Gallagher, Mary Ellen Bonner, Katie O’ Hara, Paula Hegarty, Fiona Gallagher, Mairead Gallagher, Killybegs, Isobel Mc Loone, Charlie Mc Carron, Dungloe, John O’ Donnell, Cathy Connell and Rose Mc Groarty won € 50 each. Paddy Campbell won € 35. Sinead Sweeney and Eileen Langan won € 25 each. Margaret Gallagher, Ardara, Teresa Molloy and Mairead Gallagher, Killybegs won € 20 each.
Big Bingo
There will be a Big Bingo in the Community Centre, Glenties on Tuesday 6th December 2011. Games 1 to 5 – Lines € 100, Full Panel – € 300, Game 6 – Line – € 100 and Full Panel – € 2000 Jackpot. Games 7 to 11 – Line € 100 and Full Panel € 300. Price of Books including Jackpot sheet is – Single € 25, Double – € 40. Extra Jackpot sheet costs € 5. Doors will open at 7.30 p.m.

A Big Thank You to everyone who donated to the sponsored Free- Fall Parachute Jump in aid of Donegal Mountain Rescue and MS Society. € 700 was donated. Thank you all again from Paul Dawson.
Graduation
Congratulations to Ciaran Boyle who recently graduated from G M I T Galway with a B.Sc. Honours Degree in Construction Management. Ciaran is a son of Hugh and Mary Ita Boyle, Glen Road, Glenties.
Congratulations to Brian Quinn who also graduated from G M I T with a B.Eng. Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Brian is a son of Bernie and Carmel Quinn, Kilkenny, Glenties.
Church Gate Collection
The Church Gate Collection taken up recently in aid of The Simon Community amounted to € 677.73. Thank you to everyone who contributed so generously to the collection.
Scrap Saturday – Scrap Metal Collection
A collection of scrap metal will take place at the Naomh Conaill GAA Grounds on Saturday 19th November. You can bring along your scrap, or to have scrap collected, please contact 087 6483685.
Fintown Harps A.F.C.
The recent Church Gate Collection amounted € 711.25. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the local community team.
Fintown Harps have organised a Draw for five Christmas Hampers. The Draw will take place on 11th December in Teach Jimí. Lines are € 2 for one line or € 5 for three lines and are available from any committee member.
‘Naíonra Baile na Finne’
Naíonra Baile na Finne will hold a Table Quiz in the Railway Bar, Fintown on Friday 18th November at 8.30 p.m. € 5 per person. Everyone is welcome. Spot Prizes.

Fundraising Dance
Edeninfagh N.S. Fundraising Dance is on tomorrow night Friday 18th November in The Limelight, Glenties. Doors will open at 9.30 p.m. Music is by De-railed, Shaun Mc Monagle, B & J Sounds, Dara, Rockhill Ramblers, Purple Fall & Turbulent Eddy. Admission is € 10. Door Prizes and spot Prizes.
World Remembrance Day for Victims of Road Traffic Accidents
The 11 a.m. Mass in St. Connell’s Church Glenties next Sunday 20th November will be celebrated for the intentions of road traffic accident victims. The names of everyone who has died on the roads at home or abroad will be read out at the beginning of the Mass on that day. Relatives and friends of the deceased are invited to attend. Members of the emergency services are also invited i.e. Fire Brigade, Ambulance and An Garda Síochána together with the Road Safety Officer attached to Donegal County Council.
