Glenties Notes 17th September 2009

The Harvest Fair Festival
The U / 12 team who won the County Final opened the Festival this year on Friday evening. Saturday was the Fair Day and on Sunday we had the Band and Float Parade. There was a big crowd around especially on Saturday and Sunday. Stalls of all kinds lined the street on both sides on the Fair Day; they were out the Mill Road, up the Glen Road, out the Station Road and down the Narin Road. There were fortune-tellers, games to play, prizes to be won and of course Mc Gurk’s Amusements and loads of other things to do and see. We were blessed with beautiful weather. People travel from all over the county and beyond (some from across the water) to the Glenties Harvest Fair.
