Glenties Notes 2nd April 2015

Bingo:

Cake Sale:
There will be a Cake Sale in aid of the Glenties Day Centre on Good Friday 3rd April from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Day Centre. All goods are home baked. Please support.

The Late John Gallagher:
The death took place, at his home, on Wednesday 25th March 2015 of John Gallagher, (better known as John Pat Owen), Strasallagh, Glenties. Requiem Mass was celebrated by John’s nephew, Fr. Francis Mc Loone, assisted by Fr. Denis Quinn, nephew of John’s wife, Mary Josephine, and Fr. Gerard Cunningham in The Church of The Holy Family, Edeninfagh, Glenties on Friday and burial took place afterwards in The New Graveyard, Glenties. John is survived by his wife, Mary Josephine, one son, Pat, two daughters, Isobel and Annie, one sister, Kathleen, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, – other relatives and friends, to whom sincere sympathy is extended. Three brothers, Dan, Cornelius and Frank and five sisters, Mary B., Maggie, Josephine, Bella and Annie T., predeceased him. John would have been 99 in June.

Easter Charity Cycle:
Tír Chonaill GAP Cycling Club will host the Annual Easter Charity Cycle and Run on Monday 6th April. Registration will take place at 10 a.m., in the Glenties Day Care Centre, with refreshments served afterwards. Proceeds in aid of the Glenties Foróige, The HubYouth Centre, and Glenties Community Playgroup. Distances are 30 k or 60 k cycle, 5 k run / walk, or Duathlon 5 k run & 30 k cycle. Annual Good Friday Alzheimer’s Walk:
The Annual Good Friday Alzheimer’s Walk will start from The Day Centre at 11 a.m. Refreshments afterwards in The Day Centre. Donation will be greatly appreciated. Everyone is welcome.

Good Friday Family Table Quiz:
Naomh Conaill GAA club invite you to a Family Table Quiz on Good Friday 3rd April at 7.30 p.m. in the Community Centre, Glenties. Teams of 4, € 5 per person or under 16s teams of 5, € 3 per person. Tea / coffee will be served at the interval. Come along and enjoy a fun evening.

Trócaire:
Please change small coins into €2 or €1 coins or bank notes, and bring your Trócaire donation in the special Trócaire Envelope provided in your Sunday Envelope Box, dated for Holy Thursday.
