Glenties Notes 4th February 2015

Glenties Community Action Group:
Glenties Community Action Group will hold its AGM in the Market Hall on Monday 16th February at 8 p.m. This is an important meeting, a chance for new faces to have their say and an input into how we can make Glenties a better place. There will be suggestion boxes in the Co-op, The Paper Stop and the Post Office where you can drop in your ideas or thoughts or you can leave suggestions on the Facebook page or e-mail rgmquigley1701@gmail.com

Edeninfagh N.S.:
Enrolment forms are now available at the school for 2015 / 2016 school year. For further details ring the school on 9551663.

Caretaker for schools:
A Caretaker is required based in EdeninfaghN.S. – shared with St. Riaghan’s N.S. Drimnacrosh. Position is part-time- 15 hours per week during school term time only. Applications in writing with CV should be forwarded to: Principal, Edeninfagh N.S. Edeninfagh, Glenties, to arrive no later than Monday 9th February 2015. Short listing may apply.

Dinner Dance:
Valentine’s Night Gala Dinner & Dance will be held in the Highlands Hotel on Saturday 14th February. Dinner at 8 p.m. sharp. Music by Street Life. Tickets €35. Champagne Reception at 7.30 p.m. on arrival. Proceeds in aid of Glenties Day Care Centre.

Clothing Collection For Refugees:
You are asked to bring any spare clothes, shoes, belts, handbags to the Community Centre, Glenties next Sunday 8th February between 11a.m. and 1 p.m. All funds raised in this county-wide Clothing Collection will go to “Homes from Donegal”, a charity building homes in the Central African Republic for some of the one million refugees displaced by war there. Glenties Day Centre:
We would like to invite new members to join us at the Glenties Day Care Centre. The Centre is a social Centre for the elderly in Glenties and surrounding area, opened three days a week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We provide a good social environment, an opportunity to make new friends and catch up with neighbours. Transport is available, but members may use their own mode of transport, as the Centre is flexible. For further information call Fiona on 9551766.

Sympathy:
Sincere sympathy is extended to Vera Breslin, Ard Patrick, Glenties on the death in Letterkenny Hospital, after an illness, on Wednesday 28th January 2015 of her youngest son, Laurence, Mountcharles; also to his wife Louise, brothers, Martin and Pascal, sister, Fiona, nephews, nieces, in-laws and all other relatives and friends.

The Late Bried Duffy:
The death took place in Arch View Nursing Home on Friday 30th January 2015 of Bried Duffy (nee Gallagher), Glenties. Requiem Mass was celebrated in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties by Fr. Pat Prendergast on Sunday at 11 a.m. Burial took place afterwards in the New Graveyard. Bried is survived by three sisters, Mary Melly, Anna Mc Dyre and Celine Carr, one brother, Bernie Gallagher, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, to whom sincere sympathy is extended. Her husband, Packie, a native of Lettermacaward, predeceased her fourteen years ago.
