First Holy Communion
Congratulations to the boys and girls from St. Riaghan’s, Drimnacrosh, Kilkenny N.S. and Scoil Mhuire who received their first Holy Communion on Saturday 28th April in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties – St. Riaghan’s –Francis Mc Devitt, Jack Kelly, Isobel Perraton, Nicole Breslin and Kieran Mc Geehan; Kilkenny – Niamh O’Donnell, Aaron Mc Hugh, John Kennedy and Michéal Trimble; Scoil Mhuire – Liam Wheeldon, Natalie Mc Devitt, Brendon Boyle O’Donnell, Callum Mc Loone Malone, Aileen O’ Donnell, Niamh Brown, Kieran Brennan, Patrick Mc Loone, Megan Quinn Bonner, Aodhán Browne, Seán Doherty, Róisín Agnew, Danielle O’Dwyer and Megan Doherty.

Wedding Bells
Congratulations and best wishes to Mary Josephine O’Donnell, Ardconnell, Glenties and Stephen Timoney, Omagh who were married in St Conal’s Church Kilclooney on Wednesday 2nd May 2012.

Byrne, Dunkineely, Patricia Whyte and Ann Byrne won € 100 each; Breege Gallagher, Rosbeg, Rosaleen Melly, Lettermacaward, Hazel Staunton, Kilclooney, Nellie Maguire, Frosses, Marie Mc Brearty, Kilcar, Bridie Boyle, Teresa Mc Kelvey, Fintown, Patsy Martin, Dympna Mongan, Emer O’ Donnell, Pauline Mc Geehan and Rosaleen Harkin won € 50 each; Kathleen Boyle won € 40; Brenda Reid and Rosemary Whelan won € 25 each

Congratulations
Congratulations to Ryan Connaughton, Clos Naomh Chonaill, Glenties, who has been selected as one of thirty TY students from throughout Ireland to complete a 4 day survival course in the Wicklow Mountains with the Irish Defence Forces. This is part of Gaisce, the President Awards. Ryan is a pupil in St. Columba’s Comprehensive Scoil, Glenties.

Fintown Festival
In association with Tír Chonaill GAP CC a Leisure Cycle will take place on Saturday 2nd June. Registration is at 9 a.m. and starting time is at 10.a.m. Distance 30k and 60k; Refreshments will be provided and shower facilities are available. Entry fee is €15; Cycling Club Members € 10. Tír Connaill Gap Cycling Club
Tír Connaill Gap Cycling Club meet at the Community Centre, Glenties at the following times – Saturday mornings at 9.30 a.m. sharp is for all levels; (three different levels are available); Monday evenings at 7.30 p.m. is for Beginners; Intermediate level may also come along; it is a leisurely fun cycle; Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. is for Intermediate level (will cover from 30km to 40 km). These gatherings are a great social event and it is about getting out, mixing with other people, while cycling at your own pace / level.
