Glenties Notes on July 15th 2004

On Friday 2nd July 2004 Danielle Mc Kelvey and Gavin Kelly were married in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties. Fr. Nigel Ó Gallachóir officiated and celebrated Nuptial Mass. Danielle is a daughter of Peter and Olive Mc Kelvey, Stranaglough, Glenties and Gavin is a son of Seamus and Marion Kelly, Strabane. Danielle’s parents gave her away and her cousin Kelly Gallagher was her bridesmaid. Gareth Kelly, a brother of the groom was bestman. David Mc Kelvey, brother of the bride and Conal Kelly, brother of the groom were ushers. Readings were by Rory Kelly, brother of the groom and a friend of the bride, Emma Mc Cracken. David Mc Kelvey, Conal Kelly, Eimear Vaughan, Seána Vaughan, Conan Lundy, Lauren and Nicola Gallagher read Prayers of the Faithful. The groom’s parents brought the Gifts to the Altar. Aileen Scullion read a Reflection after Communion. Music was by Eileen Carr, Margaret Rhatigan, Tara Gallagher and Ruth Gallagher. The reception was held in Harvey’s Point Hotel, Lough Eske, Donegal Town and the honeymoon is being spent in New York and Florida.

Congratulations to Jean and P.J. Campbell, Ard Patrick, Glenties on the birth last week in Letterkenny Hospital of their second child, a baby sister for Mark.

Mass will be celebrated in Glenties Graveyard next Sunday 18th July at 3.00p.m. and in Edeninfagh Graveyard on Sunday 8th August at 3.00p.m. Mass in Kilclooney Graveyard is on Sunday 25th July.

Edwina Bonner and Martin Bennett were married in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Saturday 3rd July 2004. Fr. Martin Doohan, Fanad officiated and celebrated Nuptial Mass. Edwina is a daughter of Eddie and Anne Bonner, Ardconnell, Glenties and Martin is a son of Eugene and Kathleen Bennett, Ardara. Her father gave the bride away and her sisters, Tara Mc Devitt, Noelle, and Linda Bonner attended her. Aodh Brennan, a friend of the groom was bestman. John Damien Gallagher, a friend and Derek Bennett, brother of the groom were groomsmen. Chelsea Bennett was flowergirl and Peter Bennett was pageboy. Readings were by Gavin Bonner, brother of the bride and Jeanna Bennett, sister of the groom. Colin Bonner, Michelle & Stephanie Bennett, Charlie Dooley and Ciara Hennigan read Prayers of the Faithful. Both mothers brought the Gifts to the Altar. The reception was held in the Lake House Hotel, Clooney, Portnoo and the honeymoon is being spent in Jamaica.
