Glenties Notes on July 1st 2004

Kathleen Bonner and Chad Lefler were united in marriage at an outdoor ceremony on Saturday 29th May 2004 at 4.00p.m. at Storybook Farm, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Pastor Johnny Boggs and Ordination Candidate Phillip Shoe officiated at the Ceremony. A reception followed the service on the grounds. The bride is a daughter of Barbara and Neily Bonner, Dry Arch, Straboy, Glenties and the groom is a son of Judy and Dale Lefler, Rockwell, North Carolina. Her father escorted the bride and her sister Aisling was bridesmaid. Thomas Bonner nephew of the bride was ring bearer. The bride’s family travelled to North Carolina to be part of the special day. Thank you to all our friends and neighbours in Glenties for your kind wishes and gifts. The couple has made their home in Durham, North Carolina.

Congratulations and best wishes to John and Aggie O’ Donnell, Ard Patrick, Glenties, who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, last week.

Congratulations to Nora and Phil Gallagher, Buncrubog, Glenties, who celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary last week.

The death took place at her home of Mary Craig, Buncrubog, Glenties on Friday 18th June 2004. Her remains were brought to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Sunday where they were received by Fr. Prendergast P.P. who also celebrated Requiem Mass. Readings were by Mary’s granddaughters, Emma Craig and Kathleen Bonner. Her great-granddaughter, Andrea Molloy read the Psalm. Maria and Pat Craig, Tracy Devine and John Paul Molloy brought the Gifts to the Altar. All are grandchildren of the deceased. Burial took place in the New Graveyard. Mary is survived by two daughters Julia Molloy, Buncrubog, and Mary Doherty, Stranaglough, three sons, Terence and Joe, Glenties and Packie in Dublin, one sister, Annie Donovan, Portlaoise, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, to whom sincere sympathy is extended. Her husband, Packie predeceased her ten years ago and her grandson, Pat Molloy in 1988. Mary had a long life – she celebrated her 94th birthday earlier this year and enjoyed good health for most of those years.
