Glenties Notes on June 21st 2000

CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION
The Corpus Christi Procession will go from the Church after 11.00am Mass next Sunday to the Grotto for benediction (weather permitting). The people who are usually involved in the carrying of the canopy are asked to make themselves available, as well as those who usually steward the procession. If the weather does not permit, the procession will take place inside the Church. The members of the Strabane Brass Band are unable to attend due to another engagement, so the music will be provided by the Church Choir.

GRAVEYARD
A lot of work has been done recently to tidy up the Graveyard. You are asked to inform those whom you employ for tomestone work, not to dump rubble along the ditches or on the paths, but to take it away with them. All light rubbish, such as withered wreaths and flowers, should be put in the large wheelie bin provided. No cement should be mixed on the tarmacadam. Mass in the Graveyard will be on Sunday 30th July at 3.00pm.

ORDINATION PREPARATIONS
Adrian Gavigan, Glen Road, will be ordained to priesthood on Sunday 2nd July at 4.00pm in Letterkenny. On the evening of the ordination the ‘Welcome Home’ Celebrations will take place on the Glen Road at approx 8.00pm. The following evening Adrian will celebrate his first Mass in St Connell’s Church. A Parish Social will be held in the Highland’s Hotel after the Mass to celebrate with Adrian and his family on this wonderful occasion. Anyone interested in the helping with the food and the serving of it, should get in contact with Sally McGuigan or Bernadette Burke as soon as possible.
