Congratulations and God’s Blessing upon Fr Anthony, the joy of whose Ordination and First Mass we have shared in as a Parish Community in the days gone by.  May God Bless him in his ministry ahead in his service of the people within the diocese.  It has been a great time of coming together, of helping and sharing as God’s people.  A huge thank you to all who helped in any way and who provided service or their time.  Thank You especially to the following:  Gallaghers Bakery, Ardara;  Hughie Molloy (Milk);  the Staff of the Market Hall;  Leo Dunphy;  Doherty’s Sawmill,  Ballinamore;  Mulrines, Ballybofey; The Cope Gleinties; Mark O’Donnell & Sophie Connaughton; Kieran Kennedy and the Ardaghey Band; Bridin & James Gallagher; Cathal Gallagher; Glenside Bacon Company; the Choir; those who helped clean the Church and those who did the flower arrangements. Thank you to all those who provided catering, teas and home bakes and the delicious cakes and all others who helped in any way. Thank you also to the local Community Employment Schemes who provided their time and service. Finally the organising committee who undertook trojan work and those who helped with bunting, banners and flags.  Míle Buíochas ó chroí d’achan nduine.

Fr. Anthony’s First Mass of Thanksgiving is in Edeninfagh on Sunday 25th at 12.15pm.

First Anniversary Mass of Maureen Quinn R.I.P, The Glen Tavern, Greenans On Wednesday 21st August in the Church of The Holy Family Edeninfagh at 7pm

National Grandparents Pilgrimage September 8th, Knock Shrine 2.30pm.  Everybody welcome to honour & thank Grandparents alive & dead for all they have done for us down through the ages. Chief Celebrant Bishop Kevin Doran, Bishop of Elphin –  Combined Choirs of Knock Parish – Dana sings ‘Our Lady of Knock’

Glenties Parish Youth Choir:  An enrolment evening will take place in the Parochial house on Tuesday 27th August from 7 to 8 pm for choir members for the coming school year.  The choir members are asked to make a commitment to attend as many of the choir practises as possible. These are held on most Friday afternoons straight after school in the Chapel. The choir sings at the Family Mass which is usually the first Saturday evening of every month plus Christmas and Easter Sunday morning and also the First Holy Communion Mass.  All ages welcome but , due to lack of space, the number of under 7’s is limited. Young musicians are also very welcome.

Fintown Taobh Tíre Library:  We are offering Readings Rooms from September for children aged 10 -12 years where a story or poem is read aloud and discussed.  Reading rooms aims to promote the mental wellbeing of children, increase their confidence whilst also instilling a love of literature.  The group will meet on a Monday evening 7p.m. to 8p.m.  It  is  limited  to 10 children. If you would like to enrol your child, please contact Liam on 087 6365481.

Glenities Community Centre:  Anyone wishing to book the Hall may call to office Monday to Friday 10 A.M.–2 P.M or ring 074 9557880.
Glenties Community Centre Amalgamated Ltd CE scheme have vacancies for Office worker, Caretaker for Community Centre, Museum worker,Horticultural workers/ Maintenance worker, C.E criteria applies. To apply for any of  the above please e-mail glentiescommunitycentre@gmail.com  for more information.  C.E workers can avail of training to up skill while on CE scheme.
Bingo every Tuesday night 9.00pm.  Jackpot €13,300. on 47 numbers €300 paid out if over 47 numbers.

An item of jewellery was found in the Church on Sunday 11th August.  To reclaim please contact the Parochial House.
