Altar Society for December: Team B

This years Annual Christmas Carol Service will take place on Sunday 9th December at 6pm in the Church of Ireland, Church Road,  Glenties.  Everyone is welcome to attend this festive event.

Sharing Christmas Family to Family:  At the next Family Mass (December 1st) we invite families/individuals to share a gift of a Christmas present or toy so that all families can share the joy of Christmas.  This is being done in collaboration with the St Vincent de Paul Society.  “For it is in giving that we receive.”  Gifts can be brought to the Church on any day this week prior to or after Mass and the collection will continue up to Saturday 15th December.  Alternatively, gifts/toys can be handed in to the Parochial House.  We would be grateful if gifts/toys be new, wrapped and labelled gender and age appropriate.

Childrens Family Mass Choir.  We’re delighted that the Parish Youth Choir continues to be such a great success and asset to the Parish in terms of numbers and vocals.  We are delighted to say that the choir numbers have reached full capacity for now.  As a result, a waiting list is now in operation.  Should anyone wish to add their name to this list than feel free to contact Anne McDwyer on 087 7530132.

St Vincent De Paul Glenties National Christmas Collection will take place on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December.  “We Need Your Help”.  Please give generously.  Thank you.

The Annual Glenties Parish Social will take place on Sunday 2nd December in the Highlands Hotel commencing at 3pm with Mass.  All our Senior Citizens are invited to attend.  We are also appealing to the public for any donations towards the running costs of this special celebration.  Thank you.

In Memory of Tony McCormack, Kilraine:  A sum of €2,484.40 was raised on a stall at the Harvest Fair day, for the Hospice, by members of Tony’s family, friends, and neighbours, We are very grateful to the entire community for their great support for this worthy cause.  A big thank you to everyone.

Glenties Community Playgroup Limited invites applications for the following position:  Room Leader.  This is a full time position.  Room leader qualifications required.  Desirable Criteria:  Level 7/8 degree in Early Years Care and Education.  Essential Criteria: FETAC level 6 or equivalent.  Experience required.  Candidates may be short listed on the basis of information supplied in their application form to be received no later than 5.00pm on Thursday 7th December 2018.  Please request Application Form directly from:  Glentiesplaygroup2018@gmail.com. CLG Naomh Conaill will hold their AGM on Friday 7th December 2018 at 8pm in the Market Hall and all members are encouraged to attend.  Closing date for Nominations & motions will be 5pm Friday 30th November 2018.  As per Club constitution only nominations received by this date will be considered for election.

The Naomh Conaill Ladies Club comprises the Seniors and underage panels as well as the Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others.  As there was a very poor attendance at the AGM that was held on Saturday 17th November, it was decided to adjourn the meeting as no committee could be formed. It is imperative that as many people as possible attend the reconvened AGM to ensure the future viability of the Naomh Conaill Ladies Club.  The reconvened AGM will be held at the clubhouse on Sunday 2nd December at 4pm.
