Naomh Conaill Club Notes 17th December 2012

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 8,11,17 and 23. Two prizes of €50 went to Isabella Mc Gill Main Street Glenties and C Chambers Leitir. Next weeks jackpot is €4,500.

Good luck to our U21 team, their manager and mentors in the County Final this Sunday when they take on St Eunans in Convoy at 1.00pm.

Club merchandise is now available in The Inniskeel Co-Op Glenties and Maxwells Ballinamore. This includes jerseys, jackets, hoddies, t-shirts and kitbags.

Commiseration to our U-21’s who were beaten by Kilcar in the final on Sunday.

Presentation for U-13’s, U-14’s and U-16’s is on Wednesday 28th December @6pm in the Limelight. Presentation for U-8’s, U-10’s and U-12’s is on Friday 30th December @6pm in the Community centre.

The clubs new jersey, DVD’s of Strictly come dancing 2011 and Donegal yearbooks are now on sale in the Inniskeel Co-Op.

The club is seeking applications for Senior, Reserve, 3rd and U-21 managers. Anyone interested can apply to the club secretary Patsy Furey before Friday 6th January 2012.

Good luck to the U21s who play Kilcar in the co final this Sunday at 2pm in O Donnell Park, Letterkenny.

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 1,10,13,24. Two prizes of 50 Euro went to Michelle Byrne, Mill Road, Glenties and Gerarad Gallagher, 7 The Rock, Glenties. The jackpot now stands at 2,500 Euro.

The 3rd draw in the 200 club was held at the community centre bingo last Tuesday night and the following were the winners, 1st prize 500 Euro-PJ Campbell, Ard Patrick, Glenties and 5 prizes of 100 Euro each went to Rosaleen Doherty, Station Road, Glenties, Aaron Thompson, Ard Mc Gill, Glenties, Teresa Molloy, Fintown, Paul Gallagher, Kilraine and Patricia Molloy, Mill Road, Glenties.

The underage ladies presentation took place last Sunday night in the Highlands Hotel. We would like to congratulate all the U14 girls who recieved their county feile medals and to the U12 team who were presented with their certificates. We would also like to thank all the parents who provided the food on the night and a big thank you to the Highlands Hotel for the tea and the function room. We would especially like to thank Dara Gallagher who presented the girls with their medals and certificates. The ladies board has elected Arlene Gallagher as secretary of the Naomh Conaill ladies for the coming year.

Glenties Notes 3rd February 2011

New Arrival
Congratulations to Olivia and Eamon Oates, Sligo on the birth recently of their third child, a baby brother (Conal) for Erin and Maria.  Olivia is a daughter of Christy and Una Hegarty, Mullantyboyle, Glenties.

U21 County Champions
Well done to our U/ 21 GAA team, who are county champions for the fourth time having defeated St. Michael’s on Sunday last in Letterkenny.

Collection
The Church Gate Collection taken up recently in aid of the Lourdes Invalid Fund amounted to € 495.76.  Thank you to all who donated so generously.

Glenties Community Playgroup
Glenties Community Group would like to thank everyone who donated items and who sold tickets for the Christmas Hamper Draw.  Congratulations to the six prize winners of the draw.

Bingo
The winners at the Bingo in The Community Centre, Glenties on Tuesday 25th January were – Rosaleen Melly won the Jackpot of € 400.  Nancy Gallagher, Patricia Molloy, Patsy Martin, A. Martin, Dungloe, Nora Gallagher, Denise Campbell, Moira Gallagher, Brigid Mc Cabe, Frosses and John Boyle won € 100 each.  Eileen Gallagher, Bella Boyle, Bernie Mc Devitt, Kitty Ward, Rose Molloy, Mary Mc Gill, Bridie Boyle, Teresa Molloy, Bid Fletcher, Rosemary Whelan, Shaun Maloney and Bridie Doherty won € 50 each.  Teresa Sweeney and Bridie Boyle won € 25 each.

Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland
The Church Gate Collection in aid of the Alzheimer Society of Ireland will take place at all Masses next weekend.  This collection helps to provide respite for the almost 2,200 families living with Alzheimer’s in Donegal.

Care of the Aged Committee A.G.M.
The A.G.M. of the Care of the Aged Committee takes place on Monday 7th February at 7.30 p.m.

Naomh Conaill Notes 31st January 2011

Congratulations to the U21s who beat St Michaels by 1 point in the Co Final last Sunday in O’Donnell Park, Letterkenny. This is our fourth U21 title in five years and is a fantastic acheivement and great credit must go to manager Leo McLoone and his backroom team.

Congratulations to Marty Boyle who made his debut for Donegal last Saturday against Fermanagh in the Mc Kenna Cup and was also captain on the night.

Congratulations also to the Glenties Comprehensive U14 team who beat Stranorlar in the schools final in Mac Cumhaill Park last Monday.

The Anual Presentation Dinner Dance is on Saturday 12th February in The Highlands Hotel and tickets are 35 Euro. There are still a limited amount of tickets left and anyone interseted should contact any club officer.

The AGM will be on Sunday 27th Feb in the clubhouse at 6pm. Club members can pick up nominations forms in McGlincheys or The Cope in Fintown and must be returned to the club secretary no later than 5pm on the 11th February. The Ladies AGM is on this Sunday 6th February at 7pm in the clubhouse. The ladies are also having a Table Quiz in Paddys this Friday night starting at 9.30pm

The club held a very sucessful Night at the Races in the Noble Bar Fintown last Friday night and we would like to thank everyone who supported it any way.

The club held their underage presentation in the Limelight last Saturday night.After a very sucessful 2010 medals and certificates were presented to our underage boys and girls. We would like to thank everyone who attended on the night and all the parents who supplied the food. A special word of thanks to The Limelight, Darren Melly for the sweets and biscuits, Terence and Mary Molloy for the hot food, Brian Boyle for the Disco and Cathal and Bronagh Corey, Anthony Thompson and Martin Regan who presented the medals and certificates.

The U21s had a  4 point victory at home against Four Masters in the 1st round of the championship on New Years Eve. They were due to play Mac Cumhaills last Monday in the quarter final but Mac Cumhaills were unable to field and we were awarded the game.

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 1,2,16,20. Two prizes of 50 Euro went to Jack Flannery and Margo Gallagher. The jackpot now stands at 4,700 Euro.
