The following is a written reply to Labour Leader, Eamon Gilmore’s question to Mr. Gormley, Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government regarding the Glenties sewerage scheme – “The Glenties Sewerage Scheme was being advanced as a joint project that also includes schemes for Dungloe and Gweedore. My Department has approved Donegal County Council’s Preliminary Reports for each location and the overall project is included in my Department’s Water Service Investment Programme 2007 – 2009 to begin construction in 2008.
Donegal County Council recently submitted clarification to my Department on a proposal to proceed with the Glenties and Dungloe elements of the project in advance of Gweedore, and my Department will examine this proposal as quickly as possible.”
A part-time FAS sponsored ECDL Course (16 weeks) will take place in the area early in 2008, venue to be decided. A training allowance will be paid, (this will not affect any other benefit). A childcare allowance is also available. If you are interested, call Bernie at the Family Resource office – 9545879.
The I.S.P.C.C. collection taken up recently in Edeninfagh amounted to 130 Euro. Many thanks to all those who supported this cause.
The Annual General Meeting of the Parish Council takes place this evening Thursday 15th November in the Highlands Hotel at 9.00p.m. Everyone is welcome.
