Glenties Notes 19th January 2012

Public Meeting
There will be a public meeting in the Highlands Hotel, Glenties on Sunday, 22nd January at 8 pm concerning the proposed wind farm at Straboy, Glenties. Councillors, TD’s, Senators, MEP and Ministers have been invited. See you there!

The winners at the Bingo in the Community Centre, Glenties on Tuesday 10th January were Bridie Boyle and Christine Mc Cool won € 200 each. Denise Campbell won € 120. Mary Kennedy, Emma Sweeney, Brid Roarty, Majella Boyle, Denise McGuire, Vincent Ward, Mary Duffy and Eileen Gallagher won € 100 each. Paddy Moore, Christine Mc Cool, Mickey Herron, John Mc Cole, Mary Bonner, Big Paddy, Elizabeth Buckley and Mary Gallagher won € 50 each. Mary Mc Mahon, Anne Boyle, Jean Boyle, Anthony Burke, Mary Breslin, Megan O’ Donnell, Sean Carr and Nan Bonner won € 25 each. Michael Langan, Carol Sweeney and Patricia Molloy won € 20

Night Classes
Night Classes will start in St. Columba’s Comprehensive School, Glenties on Tuesday nights from Tuesday 24th January. Classes on offer are – Beginners Guitar, Computers (Beginners and Intermediate), Conversational French and Irish, Learn how to Use your Digital Camera, ECDL START Progression (Module1), Quick and Simple French Cookery, Introductory Health and Safety in workplace, Junior Cert Maths for Adults, Make Home DVDs from video clips and photos, Patchwork, Payroll – Manual and Computerised. Áras Sheáin Bháin
The following classes will be starting soon in Áras Sheáin Bháin, Fintown – Irish, Teastas Eorpach na Gailige, Fiddle, Guitar, Piano Accordion, Singing in Irish. To enrol please ring – 9546071 – Monday to Friday 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Parish Mission
A Parish Mission will be given by St. Patrick’s Community from Monday 30th January until Friday 3rd February. Members of the Mission Team will be at Mass on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning at 7.45a.m. and will present talks, testimonies and music. Evening Mission Sessions will take place every evening, Monday until Friday inclusive, at 7.30 p.m. Each evening session will have a different theme with testimonies from the group, prayer, music and a lot more. We really encourage you to come to all five nights and get the most out of the Mission.
