Bingo
Winners at the Bingo in the Community Centre, Glenties on Tuesday 31st January were – John Mc Loone and Anne Davison won € 200 each. Maura Kilbane, Anne Furey, Denise Campbell, Bridget Mc Cabe, Frosses, Bridget Mc Cabe, Frosses, Brenda Reid, Sarah Mc Glynn and L. Doherty won € 100 each. Bridie Boyle, John O’ Donnell, Norah Gallagher, Eileen Maguire, Mary Ward, Fidelma Burke, Annie Deane, Rose Mc Fadden, Paddy Mc Gill, Nan Doherty and B. Fitzpatrick won € 50 each. Emily Thompson won € 40. Paddy Moore, Anne White, Bernadette Gallagher, John O’ Donnell, Teresa Molloy and Shaun Maloney won € 25 each.
Sympathy
Sincere sympathy is extended to the relatives and friends of Joe Boyle formerly of Glen Road, Glenties who died recently in Canada. Joe was a brother of the late Eugene Boyle, Glen Road.
Sincere sympathy is extended to the wife and family and all the relatives and friends of Charlie Deacy, Quay Road, Ballina, Co. Mayo, who died on Thursday 26th January 2012 in CastlebarHospital. Charlie came to Glenties as an Inspector in 1973. He was promoted to Superintendent in 1980 and was transferred to Letterkenny. He returned to Glenties as permanent Superintendent in 1981 where he remained until 1988, when he was transferred to Ballina. He lived on the Ardara Road, Glenties before he built his new home on the Glen Road. He is survived by his wife Maura, three daughters, Evelyn Caroline and Regina and one son, Cathal.
Charity Ceilí
A Charity Ceilí will be held in the Highlands Hotel, Glenties on Sunday 18th March. Dancing is from 9 p.m. – 12. Music is by The Long Note and admission is €10 (including supper). All proceeds will go to – Palliative Care Team, Donegal Hospice
Naomh Conaill C.I.G. Presentation Night
A Hot Buffet and Dance will take place in the Highlands Hotel Glenties on Saturday 18th February at 8 p.m. Music is by ‘Derailed’. Tickets are € 20 and are available in the Paperstop, The Co-op and The Craft Gallery.
Volunteers Wanted
The Glenties Community Action Group is looking for volunteers to help organise events in the town, i.e. St Patrick’s Day Parade, Music Festival etc. Please contact Carmel on 087 9307423.
Collection – Thanks
The Bluestack Special Needs Foundation Church Gate Collection, taken up recently, amounted to € 565 in Glenties and € 110 in Edeninfagh. Thank You to everyone who made a contribution.

Zumba Fitness Classes in Glenties
Every Tuesday Morning at 10.45 a.m. & Every Wednesday Evening at 7 p.m. in the Community Centre, Glenties. Zumba exercises include music with fast and slow rhythms. The music comes from dance styles including cumbia, salsa, merengue, mambo, flamenco, chachacha & reggaeton. You don’t need a partner or to be a good dancer to Zumba, just follow my simple moves & before you know it, you’ll be getting a great cardio workout in a fun party atmosphere!! Special Olympics
Special Olympics will hold their Annual Church Gate Collection next weekend Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th February. Special Olympics rely on this collection to help them raise the necessary funds to continue their work with existing athletes.
Art Classes
Johnny Boyle Art Classes have begun again in the Highlands Hotel on Tuesday Nights at 8.00 p.m.
Marie Keating Information Bus Cancellation
Unfortunately the Marie Keating Cancer Information Mobile Unit will NOT be in Ardara on 14th February.
