Naomh Conaill Notes 7th April 2011

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 2,5,6,20. Two prizes of 50 Euro went to Janice McNelis and Roseleen McElhinney, Glenties. The jackpot now stands at 6,000 Euro. Take Your Pick takes place every Saturday night in Keeneys.

The seniors and reserves were away to St Eunans last Saturday evening and the senior team travelled with a very depleted squad and came from behind in a dramatic finish to won 1-6 to 0-6. The reserves were also missing a lot of players and were beat by a stronger St Eunans team. Both teams are away to Glenswilly this Saturday evening.

The minors travelled to the banks last Friday and the game was played in torrential rain but they came away with a victory winning 1-9 to 1-5.

The U16s had a sucessful week beating Na Rossa in Dooey last Wednesday and then they overcame Naomh Columba at home on Monday evening.They are away to St Nauls next Monday at 6.30pm.

The senior Ladies played there first league at home against Ardara last Saturday and had a comprehensive victory.They are away to Malin this Saturday evening.

Naomh Conaill Notes 30th March 2011

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 1,6,19,22. Two prizes of 50 Euro went to Frankie Devine and Denise Campbell, Glenties. The jackpot now stands at 5,900 Euro.

Both the senior and reserve teams got the new season of to good start with victories at home to Cloughaneely. The reserves came from behind to won 0-13 to 0-10 while the seniors were very impressive winning 1-16 to 1-11. Both teams are away to St Eunans this Saturday evening.

The minors are away to Naomh Mhuire this Friday at 6.30pm. The U16s beat Naomh Brid at home last Sunday and they are at home to Naomh Columba next Monday at 6.30pm. Anyone interested in the position of U21 manager can contact club secretary Seamus O’Malley before Friday 8th April also anybody interested in becoming Oifige na Gaeilge can also contact Seamus.

Take Your Pick takes place every Saturday night in Keeneys in aid of the players training fund. The club are having a Table Quiz this Friday night in Paddys Bar.

Club membership closes on the 31st March. The last night for underage registration is Wednesday 30th March between 7pm and 9pm.

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 4,8,13,15. Two prizes of 50 Euro went to Maried Timoney, Glenties and Ann and Phil Gallagher, Glenties. The jackpot now stands at 5,800 Euro.

Good luck to the senior and reserve teams who start their league campaign this Sunday with a home game against Cloughaneely at 1.30pm and 3pm. The senior team retained the Joe Larry Cup last Friday night in Ardara beating Naomh Columba in the semi final 0-6 to 0-3 and in the final they defeated the hosts Ardara 2-6 to 0-3. They played Ardara again on Sunday in the Gaeltacht in Glenties and this was a much tighter game winning by 3pts 1-9 to 0-9. The U16s are away to Naomh Brid this Sunday at 12pm.

Club membership is now due and must be paid before 31st March. Adult membership is 30 Euro and underage is 10 Euro. There is also the 100 Euro membership which includes membership and entry into the weekly lotto. Membership forms are availble in Mc Glincheys. There will be a registration night in the clubhouse on Thursday 24th March between 8pm and 9pm and also on Saturday 26th March between 6pm and 7pm. There will be a registration night in Fintown next Monday 28th March in Arais Shean Bhain between 7pm and 8pm. The Febuary 200 Club  draw  takes place next Tuesday night at the Bingo in the commuinity centre. This will be draw number 10. All sellers are asked to have their sheets collected up to this week for the darw and the money can be paid to John Molloy (087 2519104) at the excuetive meeting next Monday night.

The Naomh Conaill Ladies are taking part in the Tesco (vouchers) for clubs and schools. Everyone who shops in Tescos will recieve 1 voucher for every 10 Euro spent. If they wish to donate any vouchers please give them to any committe member or leave in the craft gallery.

The Naomh Conaill Ladies would like to thank all those who sold or bought lines for Guess The Score in support of the Donegal Co ladies teams. The club handed over a cheque of 350 Euro to the ladies co board.

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 17,18,24,27. Two prizes of 50 Euro went to Kieran Burke and Paula Hegarty, Glenties.The jackpot now stands at 5,700 Euro.

The recovened club AGM was held last Friday in the clubhouse and the following officers were elected for 2011. President Leo McLoone, Chairman Peter Mc Kelvey, Vice Chairman Poggy O’Donnell, Secretary Seamus O’Malley, Asst Secretary Ian Molloy, Finace Committee Patsy Furey, John Molloy, John Mc Swiggan, Brian Carr, Registra David Kelch, PRO Eunan McGlinchey, Oifige na Gaeilge (to be filled at next excuetive meeting).

Good luck to John, Seamus, Jason, Mark and the Donegal Vocational Schools team against Cork in the All Ireland final replay on St Patricks Day in Pearse Stadium, Galway at 1pm.

The senior team play Naomh Columba in the semi final of the Joe Larry Tournament this Friday night at 7pm in Ardara.

Naomh Conaill Notes 9th March 2011

The final night for ladies registration will take place this Saturday night 12th March in the clubhouse from 8.30pm-9.30pm. All those intending to play or be involved with any team need to be registered. A parent/guardian needs to attend for underage players. New members are welcome. The fees are adult players 51 Euro, U18 players 36 Euro and U10s 21 Euro, Non players 26 Euro (this applies to all managers, mentors, coaches, refs or anyone helping on the sideline).

The reserves were beat at home by Naomh Mhuire in the Gaeltacht last Saturday and on Sunday the seniors had a 3 point victory away to Termon also in the Gaeltacht. The club wishes Leo McLoone a speedy recovery after he picked up a very serious injury in the game. The seniors were also involved in the Joe Larry Tournament in Ardara last Saturday and have reached the semi final of the tournament after victories over Four Masters and Gweedore on the night. They now play Naomh Columba in the semi final which is due to be played on Friday 18th March.

Hard luck to Glenties Comprehensive U14 school team who were beat in extra time in the Ulster final last Thursday against Virginia College in the Athletic Grounds, Armagh.
