Sick calls will be made on Tuesday 13th February and Thursday 15th February.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will continue as normal on Thursday Morning.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the limited capacity of grave spaces remaining at the current part of the Graveyard, it is advised that as an interim measure, any new graves be sourced from the remaining spaces in the older sections of the Graveyard. It is hoped to use the current green area towards the road (adjacent to the Gazebo) for the next development of graves. This is in train. However due to the adverse continual wet conditions the drainage necessary has been delayed before pathways can be erected. – Fr Gerard

“There are a variety of gifts but only the one Spirit.” – St Paul.
It’s good to offer thanks. I would like to acknowledge the Ministry time and effort of all those who minister in different ways in the Church on a weekly basis. Following on meetings with the Ministers of the Word and the Ministers of the Eucharist, I would like to make an appeal for more people to exercise Ministry as Readers and Eucharistic Ministers. To this end boxes are placed in the porch for you to nominate people whom you would consider suitable with their contact details included, in particular an address. These boxes will be available in the porch for weekend Masses and in the Sacristy for week day Masses until Sunday 11th February. Criteria – I would ask that you only nominate parishoners that attend this Church of St Connell. Volunteers are also sought to help clean the Church on a constant basis. If you are interested to give time to this ministry, please contact Fr Gerard.

Glenties Community Development Group
We are pleased to announce that this year Glenties will be having a parade on St Patrick’s Day – with a twist!  The difference in this year’s parade is that it will take place at 12:01a.m.  Yes, that’s right folks – one minute past midnight which will make it the first parade in Ireland on St Patrick’s Day 2017.  The decision was made to hold the parade at this time as it was proving impossible to secure any marching bands at any other time during the day as they had already been snapped up by other established event holders throughout the county.  We have managed to secure 4 bands and they are delighted with the idea of a midnight parade.  We have a large amount of floats taking part which will all be illuminated together with the marching bands and fancy dress participants for greater effect and in addition we will be turning the town green for the night to create an amazing green extravaganza for everyone.  Your support in such events is always paramount, so get your thinking caps on (green ones preferred) and get involved in what promises to be a big bright green spectacle for all to enjoy!
