Scrap Saturday:
Naomh Conaill are having a Scrap Metal Collection from Thursday 29th Saturday 31st May, behind the dressing room at the GAA Ground, if anyone has any unwanted scrap metal please leave it behind the dressing room on the dates above, or you may contact the club to make a collection. First Holy Communion:

Riverside Vintage Club Annual Run:

Mass in Rossnowlagh:
A bus will leave Mc Guinness’ Café at 6.00 p.m. on Tuesday 3rd June and every first Tuesday for Mass in Rossnowlagh. The organisers wish to make an appeal for more people to join them.

Aloe Vera Information Evening:
An Aloe Vera Information Evening will be held in Mary Campbell’s House in Kingarrow, Fintown on Thursday 5th June. Everyone is welcome.

Mission Appeal:
Mission Appeal by The Comboni Missionaries will take place at12 Mid –Day Mass in Edeninfagh next weekend ~ Sunday1st June.

Naomh Conaill GAA Club Notes 26th May 2014

There was no winner of this weeks club lotto, the numbers out were 1-5-24-26 €50 x2 went to Kathleen Quinn Ard mc Gill and Siobhan Shovelin Ardara. This weeks jackpot will be €7400

Naomh Conaill club are looking for lotto sellers for different areas in the parish, if anyone would like to become a seller for an area contact Daniel Mc Geehan for details on 0868586395.

A special well done to our u14 team on reaching the Division 1 u14 Co final v MacCumhaills on Friday last, well done to all the team and managers involved.

Naomh Conaill GAA Club Notes 19th May 2014

Naomh Conaill Ladies
The last day for registering with Naomh Conaill Ladies is next Friday 23rd May. All players , managers and mentors must be registered before that date. The cost of registration is underage players 36 euro, senior players 51 euro and non players 26 euro. The Club is organising a Scrap Saturday with the collection of scrap metals commencing on Thursday 29th to Saturday 31st May at the rear of the club house. Congtratulations to the Naomh Conaill Senior Team on they’re victory over St. Eunan’s on Sunday and also Congratulations to the Naomh Conaill 3rd Team who fought back a 9 point lead to get a Draw from Pettigo.

Naomh Conaill GAA Club Notes 12th May 2014

The club are having a scrap Saturday on the 29th – 31st of May if anyone has any unwanted scrap metal can take it to the football field behind the clubhouse, If anyone is unable can contact and we can arrange collection, for more info contact Daniel 086 8586395 Connie 0861519835 Peter 087 6483685.

There is a few places left for the 200 club draw if anyone is interested in the draw contact any club officer €100 once of payment, 2 x €50 every six months, €10 every month for the year. The first draw will take place on the 27th May at bingo.

Naomh Conaill ladies would like to thank everyone who supported our recent church gate collection taken up at all masses in the parish. The total amount collected was €993.22.

Naomh Conaill GAA Club Notes 6th May 2014

Names will be taken in the club house this Friday 9th May from 8pm to 8.30pm for the Donegal V Derry game. This is an all ticket game, once tickets are ordered they cannot be cancelled.

There will be a meeting on in the Clubhouse at 8.30 for all managers and mentors for any under age team on Friday the 9th may, it’s important that all managers and mentors attend.

We would like to give massive congratulations to the U-15 boy’s they’re managers Martin Regan David Gallagher and they’re mentors on winning the Gaeltacht Competition Down in Naomh Muire The Banks on Monday 5th May.

Naomh Conaill Notes 26th March 2012

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 4,5,26 & 27. Two prizes of €50 went to Nabla Furey, Ard Mc Gill, Glenties and Henry Gillespie, Mill Road, Glenties. Next weeks jackpot is €2,100.

The U-14’s were competing in the Feili na nOg peil blitz last Saturday where they had victories over Ardara, Naomh Conaill 2-9 2-2 Ardara and Dungloe, Naomh Conaill 1-7 2-3 Dungloe. They are now through to the Regional final this Saturday March 31st which will take place in Glenties at 10.30am.

The U-16’s had a good victory over Naomh Mhuire on Sunday. Naomh Conaill 4-16 0-08 Naomh Mhuire.

The club is currently selling Club Donegal cards. These cards gives you free admission to all club matches (league, championship & underage) in the County. The club is selling them at the special price of €120. Anyone interested in purchasing one can contact Seamus 087 4106737 or Brian 087 9354012.

Club membership is now due for 2012. Adult membership is €30 and €10 for youth. There is also €100 membership which includes membership and entry into the weekly lotto. The closing date for membership is Saturday 31st March so the final registration night will take place in the Clubhouse on Friday 30th March between 8 & 9pm.

The club is holding a Scrap Saturday this Saturday 31st March in the club grounds so if you have any old scrap bring it along to be recycled between 9am & 4pm. A full list of items that can be recycled can be got on the clubs website or for more information contact Peter 087 6483685.

The Naomh Conaill Ladies board are collecting the Tesco schools and clubs vouchers. Anyone who has any vouchers and would like to help the club can give their vouchers to any of the Ladies committee or leave them in the Craft Gallery with Rosaleen.

The Seniors and Reserves get there league season underway this weekend with an away match against St. Michaels. Check clubs website for date and times.

Only paid up members can use the gym. There will be a registration night in Aras Sheain Bhain in Fintown on Friday 23rd March between 8.30 & 9pm.The closing date for membership is Saturday 31st March.

The U-16’s were defeated by Aodh Ruadh on Sunday. Aodh Ruadh 4-08 1-07 Naomh Conaill. This Sunday 25th March they are home to Naomh Mhuire at 12 noon.

Scorers Kevin Mc Gettigan 2-1 Eoin Mc Gettigan 2-0 Ciaran Gallagher 1-0 Paul Quinn 0-3 Matias Mc Kelvey 0-2 Ethan O’Donnell 0-2 Charles Mc Guinness 0-1. This Sunday March 18th they are away to Aodh Ruadh @ 12 noon.

The Naomh Conaill ladies played there first game on Sunday 11th and lost out to Milford. The Ladies have Together for Carers St Patricks day ribbons on sale in the local shops and will be selling them on the street this Thursday and Friday. The ribbons are €2 each. The Ladies football Association are delighted to be partnered with the Carers Association for this great and worthy cause so all support would be greatly appreciated. Glenties Notes 16th November 2011

The Late Packie Mc Dyer
The death took place in Letterkenny Hospital on Monday 7th November 2011 of Packie Mc Dyer, Derries, Glenties. His Remains were brought to his son James’s home on Glen Road on Tuesday and to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Thursday morning. Fr. Shane Gallagher celebrated Requiem Mass at 11 a.m. Family members did the Readings, Prayers of the Faithful and brought the Gifts to the Altar. Music and singing were by Kevin Herron, Anne Mc Dwyer and Breidín Boyle. Burial took place in the New Graveyard. Packie is survived by his wife, Annie, daughter Rosaleen, sons, Thomas, Conal, James and John, sisters Nan Harkin and Barbara Breslin, brother James, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends to whom sincere sympathy is extended. His brother Thomas J. predeceased him in August of this year, his sister Sally in September 2009 and a baby brother died in infancy.

There will be a Big Bingo in the Community Centre, Glenties on Tuesday 6th December 2011. Games 1 to 5 – Lines € 100, Full Panel – € 300, Game 6 – Line – € 100 and Full Panel – € 2000 Jackpot. Games 7 to 11 – Line € 100 and Full Panel € 300. Price of Books including Jackpot sheet is – Single € 25, Double – € 40. Extra Jackpot sheet costs € 5. Doors will open at 7.30 p.m.

Graduation
Congratulations to Ciaran Boyle who recently graduated from G M I T Galway with a B.Sc. Honours Degree in Construction Management. Ciaran is a son of Hugh and Mary Ita Boyle, Glen Road, Glenties.

Congratulations to Brian Quinn who also graduated from G M I T with a B.Eng. Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Brian is a son of Bernie and Carmel Quinn, Kilkenny, Glenties.

Church Gate Collection
The Church Gate Collection taken up recently in aid of The Simon Community amounted to € 677.73. Thank you to everyone who contributed so generously to the collection.

Scrap Saturday – Scrap Metal Collection
A collection of scrap metal will take place at the Naomh Conaill GAA Grounds on Saturday 19th November. You can bring along your scrap, or to have scrap collected, please contact 087 6483685.

Fintown Harps A.F.C.
The recent Church Gate Collection amounted € 711.25. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the local community team.

Fintown Harps have organised a Draw for five Christmas Hampers. The Draw will take place on 11th December in Teach Jimí. Lines are € 2 for one line or € 5 for three lines and are available from any committee member.

‘Naíonra Baile na Finne’
Naíonra Baile na Finne will hold a Table Quiz in the Railway Bar, Fintown on Friday 18th November at 8.30 p.m. € 5 per person. Everyone is welcome. Spot Prizes.

Fundraising Dance
Edeninfagh N.S. Fundraising Dance is on tomorrow night Friday 18th November in The Limelight, Glenties. Doors will open at 9.30 p.m. Music is by De-railed, Shaun Mc Monagle, B & J Sounds, Dara, Rockhill Ramblers, Purple Fall & Turbulent Eddy. Admission is € 10. Door Prizes and spot Prizes.

World Remembrance Day for Victims of Road Traffic Accidents
The 11 a.m. Mass in St. Connell’s Church Glenties next Sunday 20th November will be celebrated for the intentions of road traffic accident victims. The names of everyone who has died on the roads at home or abroad will be read out at the beginning of the Mass on that day. Relatives and friends of the deceased are invited to attend. Members of the emergency services are also invited i.e. Fire Brigade, Ambulance and An Garda Síochána together with the Road Safety Officer attached to Donegal County Council.
