Message from St.Connell’s Museum:
“Halloween Haunted House at The Museum”. As there seems to be some miss – information going around in relation to the monies received for this, the total receipts for the four nights were € 1, 310, out of which the Youth Club got € 250 for the excellent work they did, and the balance of € 1, 060 was divided evenly between the Glenties Community Action Group and St. Connell’s Museum, each getting € 530. I hope this clears up any misunderstanding there is. We would like to thank you all for your support.” Signed: Aidan Campbell, Secretary, St. Connell’s Museum and Heritage Centre Society.

Message from Maria Rafferty:
Christmas blessings and gratitude from ‘Shop N Share’. Four years later and our little shop in Glenties is continuing to operate and to keep Semaria street children in Jimma, Ethiopia up and running, also reaching out to even more very disadvantaged people. We also provide shelter and food for 15 old homeless people in the same town and two young men are finishing their education thanks to the generosity of our small area in Donegal. All our volunteers give of their time freely and all our money goes directly to our charity. They would like me to extend their gratitude and blessings to each and everyone who supports our cause in any way. Christmas can be a lonely difficult time for so many people, but we bring love, care, and help that mean so much to the above mentioned people. Please continue to support us, if you can, and you are always welcome in our little shop. Rath Dé oraibh go leir agus Nollag Shona. Maria and the team.

Shop N Share Glenties – First Anniversary
November last year was when we first opened the doors of our unique charity shop in Glenties, and thanks to the wonderful generosity of the people who support us we have gone from strength to strength. We wish to acknowledge and thank those who pass on such good items to us, those who buy and those who so generously give their time as volunteers in the shop and those who support us in other ways. Our work is run entirely by unpaid volunteers. We are open now Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat. All the money we make is used solely for projects in Jimma in Ethiopia. In recession times the poor of the Developing World can be easily forgotten, thus making their precious lives even more miserable. However the Glenties project has meant that 16 of the poorest of the poor get a small regular income allowing them to stay alive; The building of a Centre for street children is enabled by our monthly contributions; Several disadvantaged young people, who have no educational grants, are helped to further their education; £1,100 has been sent to assist with drought measures in East Africa; A wheelchair was purchased and delivered to a family where two sons have polio, enabling them to leave their homes. Blessings, prayers and heartfelt gratitude are in continuous flow from our contacts in Jimma. Our hope would be that in the future we could bring a couple of friends from there to Glenties to meet the community and build stronger ties with our African projects and the people we support. Thank you for your continued support. Call in at any time for a chat, to seek out a bargain or drop off any goods you have that you no longer need. Mile buiochas agus Rath De oraibh. Maria Rafferty and Team.
