The Regional Employment Service can help long term unemployed to get back in full time employment / identify training opportunities, prepare CV and fill out application forms and much more.  So if you wish to avail of our service:

The Outreach Officer will be in attendance in The Community Centre, Glenties on 6th September 2010 from 2.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.  No appointment necessary.  Further enquiries to Helen or Mary 074 9128010.

The club can feel very proud of its youth team following its narrow defeat to Ballyliffin in the County Final last weekend. To lose by a single hole after 108 holes of golf is heart-breaking but the lads can attest that they performed admirably and took defeat in the true spirit of the game. Following their semi-final victory the previous weekend, Martin Roarty had his charges practising for the home and away tussle ahead. Congratulations to the senior team on reaching the co final after coming back from the dead against Glenswilly in Letterkenny last Sunday evening. In a very dramatic ending with 57 mins on the clock they trailed by 3 points but produced a remarkable comeback scoring 2-2 in the remaining minutes winning 2-13 to 2-08. They now meet Four Masters or Killybegs in the final which is due to be played on Sunday 26th Sept. They are at home to St Michaels in the league this Saturday at 6.30pm and the reserves play St Michaels at 5pm.

Narin & Portnoo Golf Club Notes 24th August 2010

The club is reviving the old Am-Am this year after an absence of four years and there is much interest in the individual/team event which takes place this weekend over two days. The competition is open to both ladies and gents and the entry fee is 30 euro for members and 40 for visitors. The prize-giving will take place at 9p.m. on Sunday night.

All outstanding matches in the Spring Foursomes, Clements Mixed Foursomes and Dr. McCloskey Perpetual Cup must be played by the 4th of September. The finals of these events will take place on September 11th.

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 3,7,10,18. Two prizes of 50 Euro went to Paddy McGrath, Ardara and Seamus Molloy. The jackpot now stands at 3,100 Euro.

Good luck to the senior team who play Glenswilly in co semi final this Sunday evening at 6.30pm in Letterkenny. The seniors were beat at home by Dungloe last Saturday in the league. The reserves beat Dungloe 2-12 to 1-07 and they are at home to Glenswilly this Saturday evening in the league at 5pm.

The U14s were beat away to Four Masters last Monday in the 2nd leg of the championship. They now must meet again in a play off which is due to be played next week.

The Minors had a comprehensive victory against Naomh Mhuire in a championship play off in Fintra last Wednesday. They now play the winners of the Four Masters/Aodh Ruadh game.They were beat by St Eunans in the league semi final last Monday evening in Glenswilly.
