Naomh Conaill GAA Club Notes 15th April 2015

There was no winner of this week Gaa club lotto, numbers drawn out were 1-22-24-26 and the €50×2 went to Luca Cannon Mill Road c/o Bridie Doherty and Mary Furey Ardara. Next week’s jackpot will be €3,300.
Club 200 draw no 11 was held last week and the winners were €500 Shauna Molloy ,Clos Naomh conaill and €100×5 James Griffin, Derries & Ann Gallagher (Phildy), The Glen & David Kelch, The wood & Mary Kennedy, Main street & Sally Mc Guigan, Ard Connell. Congratulations to all the winners, the last draw will take place on the first Tuesday the 5th May at Bingo.

Asking all members to top up fuel points with topaz for Naomh Conaill when you spend over €40 at a topaz station and all full cards must be giving to Pauline Doherty.

Congratulations to our minor boys on their victory over Killybegs at home on Friday last in the division 1 league semi-final with a score of 4-19 to 2-7. They now play Naomh Columba in the league final.

Congratulations to our seniors and reserves team who are sitting top of the division 1 league with victories over Four Masters on sat last with a score line of reserve 4-13 to 0-5 and senior 4-8 to 1-7.

Brian Mc Cormack Division 1 fixture Senior and reserve v Gweedore Sunday 19th April at 1.30 & 3.00 in Gweedore.

U14 league fixture Naomh Conaill v Dungloe in Glenties on sat 18th April at 12.

There will be a club executive meeting on Friday 17th April at 8pm in the clubhouse.

New club half zip tops are for sale in the co-op now priced at children’s €30 and adult €35 so call in and have a look if interested.

There was no winner of this weeks lotto jackpot, numbers drawn out were 6-11-13-15 and the €50×2 went to John McLoone Mill Road and Annmarie Cunningham Glen Road. Next weeks jackpot will be €3,200.

Naomh Conaill would like to thank everyone who attended and helped out in anyway to a fantastic quiz night on good Friday in the Community Centre Glenties.

Our seniors had a hard battle against Glenfin on Friday last in the Comortas Peile na Gaeltachta with a scoreline of 2-15 to 2-14.

Well done to our minor boys who had a good victory over Aodh Rua on Sunday last with a scoreline of 3-9 to 0-11.

Good luck to Amy Boyle Carr and Danielle McDevitt who are heading to Scotland this week to play for Ireland.

Well done to our seniors and reserves who got 2 more points in the league with both teams winning v Glenswilly at home on Sunday last. Reserves Naomh Conaill 1-10 Glenswilly 3-2 and senior Naomh Conaill 1-15 Glenswilly 1-10.

A special thanks must go to Seamus O’Malley who donated a fantastic homemade Easter egg to Naomh Conaill and well done to Gerry O’Donnell Mennahalla who guessed the correct weight of the egg weighing 7lb 9oz.

The Late John Gallagher:
The death took place, at his home, on Wednesday 25th March 2015 of John Gallagher, (better known as John Pat Owen), Strasallagh, Glenties. Requiem Mass was celebrated by John’s nephew, Fr. Francis Mc Loone, assisted by Fr. Denis Quinn, nephew of John’s wife, Mary Josephine, and Fr. Gerard Cunningham in The Church of The Holy Family, Edeninfagh, Glenties on Friday and burial took place afterwards in The New Graveyard, Glenties. John is survived by his wife, Mary Josephine, one son, Pat, two daughters, Isobel and Annie, one sister, Kathleen, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, – other relatives and friends, to whom sincere sympathy is extended. Three brothers, Dan, Cornelius and Frank and five sisters, Mary B., Maggie, Josephine, Bella and Annie T., predeceased him. John would have been 99 in June.

Easter Charity Cycle:
Tír Chonaill GAP Cycling Club will host the Annual Easter Charity Cycle and Run on Monday 6th April. Registration will take place at 10 a.m., in the Glenties Day Care Centre, with refreshments served afterwards. Proceeds in aid of the Glenties Foróige, The HubYouth Centre, and Glenties Community Playgroup. Distances are 30 k or 60 k cycle, 5 k run / walk, or Duathlon 5 k run & 30 k cycle. Annual Good Friday Alzheimer’s Walk:
The Annual Good Friday Alzheimer’s Walk will start from The Day Centre at 11 a.m. Refreshments afterwards in The Day Centre. Donation will be greatly appreciated. Everyone is welcome.

There was no winner of this week’s Gaa lotto the 2x€50 went to Ben Conlon, Carrick on Shannon and Joe Bonner, Glen Rd next week’s jackpot will be €3,000.

Membership will be taken in the clubhouse on Friday 27th between 6-8pm and on Monday 30th 6.30-7.30pm. These will be the last two registration nights. Anyone wishing to play for the club this year underage or senior must pay their membership before 31st March. Adult membership €40 or €100 with entry into weekly lotto. Youth membership €20 or family’s with a number of children its €20 each for first two children and €10 per child after.

Congratulations to our u16 boys who got off to a winning start in the league at home to Ardara on Sunday with a score of 3-16 to 0-04.

Congratulations to Naomh Conaill senior and reserve teams who had two fantastic victory away to Malin with a score of Reserves 5-16 to 0-02 and senior 3-12 to 2-09

There is an executive meeting date change this week from Wednesday night to Friday 27th March at 8pm in the clubhouse.

The club are hosting a family table quiz on Good Friday in the Community Centre Glenties at 8pm, adult team of 4 and under 16 table of 5. There will be tea and coffee served at interval, so please come along and support your club and enjoy a family fun quiz.

There was no winner of this week’s GAA lotto numbers out were 7-8-12-14 and the €50×2 went to Owen McGeehan, Fintown & Daniel Curran, Tullycleave, Ardara. Next week’s jackpot will be €2,800.

Membership will be taken on Saturday morning between 11-12 in the clubhouse. Adult €40, underage €20 for first and second child and €10 each child after and also there is €100 membership available which will give you full membership and 4 numbers into our weekly lotto draw.

Good luck to our seniors who play Sarsfield in the Ulster Senior football club league on Sunday 8th March in Garvaghey @12pm

2015 championship draw took place last Sunday in Ballyshannon which saw us in group 2 along with Ardara, Dungloe and St Eunans.
