Glenties Golf Society – All Welcome

We look to start our years 1st outing for 2013 this coming Saturday 23rd at Naran & Portnoo. (For those who didn’t know we apologises for the late notice.) We plan to meet at 8.15am for registration and to welcome our new captain Fr Adrian Gavigan andwish him all the best for the coming year. Further information and dates will be available on Saturday for the years upcoming dates and proposed trips.

As discussed at the AGM we are trying to bring back membership to previous years levels so encourage you all to bring along Guests / Past members who may wish to join the society and make the outings more enjoyable.

Glenties Golf Society Notes 11th April 2012

We had a very successful outing in Narin and Portnoo on Good Friday.

We had 36 golfers play on the day and scoring was excellent.

The following were the winners with b.o.t coming into play for almost every position.

1st Joseph McLoone (11) 39pts (20+19) b.o.t

2nd Tony Gildea (20) 39pts (22+17)

3rd Gerald McDwyer (12) 38pts (19+19)

4th Columba Gavigan (11) 37pts (16+21) b.o.t

Visitor Donnie McCole (9) 35pts (18+17)

Our next outing is The Day away in Sligo on May 23rd, for a place on this trip contact the P.R.O immediately.

Glenties Golf Society Notes 30th March 2012

The next outing of the Glenties Golf Society takes place on Good Friday April 6th.

The Venue is Narin and Portnoo Golf Club.

Tee off time is from 8.30am to 9.30am.

This is also a Rider Cup qualifier so bring your “A” game with you.

New members and beginners are welcome, just turn up on the Day.

Names and deposits for our Fun Day to Sligo in May will be taken at this outing.

Glenties Golf Society Notes 11th March 2012

The Glenties golf society had a very successful outing to Narin & Portnoo golf club on Sat. 10/03/12.

Harry Reid had an excellent front 9 of 8 par’s and a birdie, but the wheels came off when he heard that his mentor and former boss Michael Naughton had an eagle 2 on tough par 4  fifth hole for 5pts.

The competition played over 16 holes had the following results.

1st.    P.J. Murray          (19) 37pts.
2nd.  Joe Mcloone        (11) 34pts bot.
3rd.  Pat Connaghan     (21) 34pts bot.
4th.  Michael Naughton (15) 34pts bot.

Our next outing is to the same venue on Good Friday 6/4/12 @8.30am.
