Glenties Community Playgroup Limited:
Applications are invited for the post of Relief Worker / Relief Panel. The ideal candidate will have a minimum qualification of full FETAC Level 5 in Childcare, preferably FETAC Level 6 or equivalent. Sound knowledge of Early Years Curriculum Framework (Aistear) and the National Quality Framework Soilta. Experience of working in a childcare setting would be an advantage. Open Days at Doon Fort:
As part of History & Cultural Activities for National Heritage Week a Boat Trip and Guided Tour will take place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th August from 11 a.m. – 5.00 p.m. at Loughadoon & O’Boyle (Doon) Fort with Paula Harvey (Archaeologist). Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Joe Mc Hugh, will perform the opening ceremony at around 1.00 p.m. on Saturday. The ferry fee is €10 for adults and € 5 for children. Booking is essential. Naomh Conaill GAA Club Notes 20th August 2014

Lotto 12/8/14. There was 1 jackpot winner Congratulations to Kate Bonar Ballybofey on winning €8,500. Next week’s jackpot will be €2,000.

The club are having a fundraising draw and are looking for people to help sell in different areas of the parish so if anyone is interested in helping out please contact any club officer.

Approximately 175 running and walking enthusiasts turned up in last Wednesday evening for the annual Naomh Conaill 5k. A big thank you to all who attended on what threatened to be a wet evening but stayed mostly dry throughout. Local GAA stars Leo Mc Loone and Dermot “Brick” Molloy were on hand to present the prizes afterwards. Ciaran Doherty from the Letterkenny AC club was first home in an impressive time of 15.46. He was followed home by local man Dermot Brennan (Finn Valley AC) in a time of 16.47. First home in the Ladies section was Caroline Boyle, London (formerly Ardara) in a time of 20.48.In the over 40s section first lady home was Margaret Sweeney from Lettermacaward and Finbar Gallagher (Innishowen AC) was first in the mens. The under 16 girls was won by Ellie Mc Donnell and the boys section was won by Charlie Mc Donnell. A huge thank you to all who helped in any way to making the evening a success especially Seanie McDevitt. The ladies who baked all day and then served the tea which was enjoyed by all after the race. Thank you also to the Highlands Hotel and Kennedys Bar and restaurant who sponsored prizes on the evening.

Congratulations to our senior team on a great victory over Ardara at home on Sunday last 2-13 to 0-6 in the division 1 league. Two great points.

Congratulations to our u12 boys on a victory over Aodh Ruadh in the a championship on Monday last retaining there title. Well done to all involved.

Naomh conaill minors had a great battle with Aodh Ruadh on Monday night in Glenties and will now take it to a third game.

Naomh Conaill Club Notes 3rd October 2013

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 2, 15, 17 and 27. Two prizes of €50 went to Liz Buckley Fintown and Marie Boyle Fintown. Next weeks jackpot is €4,100.

The September draw in the 200 plus club took place last Tuesday night at the Community centre bingo. 1st prize €500 Anthony Burke Bruckless. 5 prizes of €100 each Bernie Keeney The Rock, Kevin Ward Edeninfagh, Patrick Gill Meenalaragan, Nora Mc Swiggan/Annette Mc Gettigan Glenties and Ann Mc Glinchey Tullyard Road.

Congratulations to the U16’s who are through to the league county final after they defeated Gweedore 3-7 to 0-15 on Saturday. They now play St Eunans in the final. The game is fixed for Sunday 6th October at 1.00pm with the venue TBC.

The reserves have to do it all over again after their game against Gweedore in the championship final ended in a draw. Naomh Conaill 0-17 2-11 Gweedore.

The seniors put in a great display of football to defeat Killybegs 3-14 to 0-09 in the league. They now have 1 game left to play which is at home against Ardara.

Naomh Conaill Club Notes 21st February 2013

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 7,16,20 and 27. Two prizes of €50 went to Patricia Molloy Kilraine and Margaret Murray Burtonport. Next weeks jackpot is €5400.

The championship draw took place last Sunday. This year sees a new championship format. In the reserve and senior championship we have been drawn in Group A – St Eunans, Malin, Naomh Conaill and Cloughaneely. In the junior B championship we play Naomh Padraig and in the U21 we were drawn against Dungloe.

The club held a very successfull Casino Las Vegas night in the Highlands Hotel where there was a full house last Saturday night. Congratulations to Philip Gallagher Station Road who won €1000, Breda Mc Dyre Derries weekend break in the Harcourt Hotel Dublin, John ‘Pa’ Bonner 32″ television and to all other prize winners on the night. Congratulations to Michelle Flannery who won best dressed. Thanks to all our sponsors for being so generous – it is very much appreciated. Well done to eveyone involved in organising the night.

Membership for 2013 is now due. Adult membership is €40, youth €20 (for families with a number of children its €20 each for the 1st two children and then €10 for each additional child). There is also €100 membership which includes membership and entry into the weekly lotto. A registration/membership night will take place in the clubhouse this Friday 22nd February between 5.30 and 6.30pm. Only paid up members are allowed to use the gym.
