On behalf of the Molloy family and the Glen Tavern, we would like to thank everyone who supported our Alzheimer’s fundraiser weekend in August. A special mention to all the local businesses in Glenties and Ardara who kindly donated prizes for our raffle all weekend. Also our many friends who gave generous money donations and gifts and to the dart winners and organisers of last man standing for donating to our charity along with the motorbikers for their support. I wish to thank Mary Gill who provided all the food for Friday and Saturday night and our own family the Cufflinks and our good friends the Campbell’s who provided wonderful music. As you all know this is a charity which is very dear to both families. Last year we helped to buy the bed and hoist for Glenties Alzheimers Comfort Fund as they had poor changing facilities. This has been a greatly successful event, this year we raised €2500 which will be donated to the Alzheimers Comfort Fund in the Glenties Day Centre.

Sister Act – The Musical. The members of Glenties Musical Theatre are busy rehearsing the Musical, Sister Act which they will perform in Glenties Community Centre on the 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th October. This is a light hearted show for all the family. Watch out for ticket details and book your seat early and see if fun loving Deloris can hide quietly in a convent while a gang of thugs are out to kill her, and how long can Mother Superior put up with her behaviour? Will the Convent choir ever sound the same again…?
