Glenties Notes 15th April 2008

On 29th February 2008 Gráinne Breslin and Colin Mooney were married in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties. Fr. Paul Gallagher officiated and celebrated Nuptial Mass. Gráinne is a daughter of John and Celine Breslin Kilraine, Glenties and Colin is a son of Brendan and Mary Mooney, Navan, Co. Meath. Her father gave the bride away and she was attended by her sister, Roisin and her friend Marie Harnett. The groom’s brother Paul was bestman and his friend, Brendan Mc Dyer was groomsman. Readings were by Michelle Mooney, sister of the groom and Christine Breslin, cousin of the bride. Gráinne Mooney, Anthony Mooney, Patrick Breslin and Niamh Herrighty read Prayers of the Faithful. Celine Breslin and Mary Mooney, mothers of the bride and groom brought the Gifts to the Altar. Music and singing was by Barbara Edwards (soprano) and Matt Mc Granahan (violin). The reception was held in the Highlands Hotel, Glenties and the honeymoon was spent in Italy and the Canaries.

Congratulations to Michelle and David Molloy, Narin Road, Glenties on the birth last week of their first child, a baby boy (Dáithí).

Gairmscoil Chú Uladh, Ballinamore are celebrating their 25th Anniversary with a Dinner Dance and a Re-union of former pupils, staff, parents and guests on Friday 25th April at 8.00 p.m. in Jackson’s Hotel, Ballybofey. Tickets are available from the school at 9546133. Admission is 40 Euro.

A Fun for All Day will take place in the Highlands Hotel, Glenties on Sunday 20th April from 3 – 7 p.m. This is a Community event, run in conjunction with Downstrands Resource Centre in support of the Daybreak Programme for young people in the area. Come along for an afternoon of music, refreshments and activities for all the family. Black Stuff, El Diablo and other local musicians will be there. Face painting will be available and there will also be craft stalls. Tickets will be available at the door. Admission is 5 Euro for students, 10 Euro for adults and 15 Euro per family.
