Glenties Notes 19th August 2010

Congratulations to Donna Donoghue, Derries, Glenties, who recently graduated from the University of Ulster, Magee in Derry with and honours degree in Social Studies.

The winners at the Bingo in the Community Centre, Glenties on Tuesday 10th August were – Dim Melly won the Jackpot of € 400.  Mary Gallagher, Sally Mc Guigan, Glenties, Geraldine Jordan, Inver, Margaret Gillespie, Nora Gallagher, Breege Gallagher and Geraldine Jordan won € 100 each.  Eilish O’Donnell, Mary mc Geehan, Rose Molloy, Noreen Mc Devitt, Michael Doherty, Mary Kate Byrne, Patsy Browne, Sarah Long, Fintown, Denise Maguire, Binbane, Ann Davidson, Dungloe, Sally Mc Guigan, Terence Breslin, Burtonport, Breege Gallagher, Rosbeg, Charlie Trimble and Denise Campbell won € 50 each.  Anthony Meehan, Alice Carr and Ann Kennedy won € 35 each.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Hugo, Main Street, P.J. and Eddie Mc Dyre, Derries, Glenties and Kitty Mooney, Doohill, Ardara on the death of their brother Dan Mc Dyre, which took place in Florida, U.S.A. last week; also to his wife and family, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Christine Boyle, Highlands Hotel and Ann Marie O’ Donnell, Stranaglough on the death of their aunt, which took place last week in Scotland.

The Donegal Annual Church Gate Collection for Rehab will be taken up before the Masses next weekend – Saturday 21st August and Sunday 22nd August to support their services in Co. Donegal.

Fionnuala and Irene Boyle would like to thank all those who supported their fundraising quiz and auction for Haiti in Paddy’s Bar last Friday night; also those who gave donations or helped in any way.
