Glenties Notes 6th August 2008

Congratulations to Joanne and Burt Kerans, Kells, Co. Meath on the birth recently of their first child, a baby boy (Jake). Joanne is a daughter of Annie and the late Danny O’Dwyer, Ard Mc Gill, Glenties.

Mass will be celebrated in the Graveyard in Edeninfagh next Sunday 10th August at 3.00p.m.

The Little Sisters of the Poor have been given permission by Bishop Philip Boyce to collect in the Diocese of Raphoe. They will be in the Glenties area from 17th until 23rd August. Their aim is to raise funds for the upkeep of their Homes for the Elderly.

The annual Church Gate Collection for the County Donegal Association of Parents and Friends of the Mentally Handicapped will be taken up before all Masses next weekend – Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th August.

The A.G.M. for the Glenties Community Playgroup will be held in the Playgroup Building on 26th August at 8.30 p.m. All interested in the future of the Playgroup and Afterschool please attend. It is essential to get 7 Directors for the Company and a Management Committee. If on the night directors cannot be obtained this will result in the closure of the building. Directors are vital to keep the building open. All outgoing Directors and Management are requested to attend also. Childhood Vaccines All 4 – 5 year old children starting school this September are due their 4 in 1 Booster and 2nd dose of MMR. In the HSE Northwest Area these Immunisations are available free from your family doctor.
