Congratulations
Well done to our U / 21team who beat Donegal Town in the County Semi-Final in Letterkenny on Sunday last. Having won the County Final for the past three years they will be going for 4 in a row next weekend when they meet St. Michael’s. Good Luck Lads!

Bingo
The winners at the Bingo in the Community Centre, Glenties on Tuesday 16th February were – Anne Furey won the Jackpot – € 400. M. Ward, Mully, Mary Kennedy, Anne Mc Dyer, Maas, Helen Mc Dyer, Kelly Harrington, Sarah Mc Glynn, Joseph Martin, Lisa Coughlan, Mary Gallagher, Leitir and Sadie Sweeney won € 100 each. M. Hanlon, Leitir, Amy Delaney, Christine Mc Cool, Sally Mc Guigan, May Mc Gowan, Killybegs, Sheila Hegarty, Damien Smullen, Natasha Doherty, Mary Gillespie, Killybegs, Joseph Martin, Ardara and Patsy Mc Dyre won € 50 each. B. Gallagher, Rosbeg and P. Martin won € 25 each.

New Arrival
Congratulations to Breege and Michael Mc Ginty, Monaghan on the birth recently of their second child, (Jude), a baby brother for Noah. Breege is a daughter of Paddy and Bridie Doherty, Mill Road, Glenties.

Wedding Bells
Congratulations to Sean Mc Loone, Main Street, Glenties and Lorraine Diver, Ardara who were married in The Church of the Holy Family, Ardara on Saturday last.

Table Quiz
A Fund Raising Table Quiz will be held next Friday night 26th February in Paddy’s Bar, Glenties at 9.00 p.m. in aid of Haiti. Fionnuala and Irene Boyle, Glen Road are travelling to Haiti this October as volunteers with the Haven “Build it Week” Programme. They must first raise € 9,000 to help the homeless people of Haiti. Please come along and give your support for this very worthy cause. All donations greatly appreciated. Contact 087 2612997.

Ellen Boyle
The death took place in Killybegs Hospital on Thursday 18th February 2010 of Ellen Boyle, Mullantyboyle and formerly of Straoughter, Glenties. Her remains were brought to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Friday evening. Fr. Pat Prendergast celebrated Requiem Mass on Saturday morning. The Gifts were brought to the Altar by grandnieces, Claire and Patricia Campbell, grandnephew, Derek Ward and great grandniece, Caitlin Ward. Music was by Ernan O’ Donnell and Vincent Campbell. Burial took place in Kilraine Graveyard. Ellen is survived by one sister, Kathleen Doherty, U.S.A., nieces, nephews, grandnieces / nephews, great grandnieces / nephews, other relatives and friends to whom sincere sympathy is extended. She was predeceased by two sisters, Annie Ward and Mary Agnes Boyle, three brothers, Jim, Tommy and Paddy Boyle. Ellen would have been 102 on her next birthday, which occurs this week.

Naomh Chonaill Ladies
U -12 / 14 Presentations will take place in the Highlands Hotel, Glenties on Sunday 28th February at 6.00 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Tug O War
‘Well done’ to Dermot Bonner from the Glen Road, who won a silver medal, pulling with his club, Clonmany at the National Indoor 560 kilo Tug O War Championship held in Buncrana recently. Dermot is a son of Martin and Mary E. Bonner, Glen Road, Glenties and is currently in Italy for the World Championships, which begin today.

Cycle Challenge
Get your bikes out and start peddling because Rev. Deane’s Cycle Challenge is coming up on the 22nd May.

Table Quiz
A Table Quiz will be held in Paddy’s Bar in aid o the Church of Ireland on Friday 5th March. Your support would be much appreciated. Everyone is welcome.
