The annual Senior Citizens Party held last Friday night in the Highlands Hotel, Glenties was a great success again this year. Thanks to all those who work so hard to make the night so enjoyable. Thanks to Fr. Prendergast, who celebrated Mass at 6.00 p.m. and gave the Blessing of the Sick to all present. Thanks also to the children from Drimnacrosh National School, who, with their teachers and parents sang carols after Mass. As usual the meal was delicious and the music was great and Santa and the Lord Mayor came in with gifts for all the guests.
The Lord Mayor, Thomas Mc Dyer, switched on the Glenties Christmas Lights last Friday night at 8.00p.m. Santa was in town too and ‘The Chancers’ provided the music. It was a lovely night and a big crowd gathered for the occasion. Our thanks are due to the Glenties Traders Association and all the workers who put up the lights, which really make such a difference to the town.
