Glenties Notes on March 22nd 2002

Forty-five young people from the five schools in the Parish received the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Philip Boyce in St. Colmcille’s Church, Fintown on Sunday 10th March 2002.

Sincere sympathy is extended to John Joe Melly, Main St. Glenties on the death of his brother Patrick Melly, Doochary, which took place in Harbour Lights Nursing Home, Bruckless on Sunday 10th March 2002. His remains were brought to his home on Monday. Burial took place after Requiem Mass on Wednesday.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Annie Toland, Tullyhoniver, Glenties on the death of her father Eddie Gallagher, Cnocnagapple, Ardara, which took place at Annie’s home on Thursday 14th March 2002. His remains were brought to the Church of the Holy Family on Saturday for Requiem Mass and burial took place afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the relatives and friends of Bridget Mc Glynn, Meenagoland, Fintown, who died in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Stranorlar on Tuesday 12th March 2002. Her remains were brought to her home later that day and burial took place in Fintown after Requiem Mass on Thursday.
