Naomh Conaill Notes 6th August 2009

Congratulations to Allana Mc Donnell, Lorraine Molloy and Aoife Mc Devitt who were part of the Donegal Minor Ladies squad that won the All Ireland in Tullamore last Sunday beating Clare in the final and good luck to Allana and Lorraine who are part of the Donegal U16 girls team that play Meath in the U16 All Ireland final this weekend.

The minors beat Dungloe in the 1st leg of the championship 1-18 to 1-7 at home last week. Scorers for Naomh Conaill were John O Malley(1-7), Dermott Molloy(0-5) Jamie Mc Hugh (0-4), Christopher Molloy (0-1) and Jamie Gallagher (0-1).

Our U12 team had a very memorable and enjoyable day at the All-Ireland quarter-finals in Croke Park last Sunday and for some it was the first appearance at headquarters! The trip, organised by the U12 management started with an A+B friendly match against Simonstown Gaels in Co. Meath and the team wish to thank them for their exceptional hospitality that morning. It was then on to Croke Park and despite the Donegal result the Tyrone/Kildare match was a terrific and exciting experience for the youngsters. A meal was then enjoyed by all on the way home. The management wish to thank all the parents who financed the entire trip for the children and the U12s themselves, whose impeccable behaviour on such a long journey once again was a credit to them and their families.

The Minor Board play host to Emmyvale, Co. Monaghan this Sunday morning in Glenties. There will be U11 and U13 friendly games played, commencing at 10am approx. Parents will be contacted by management with details.
