Glenties Notes 12th March 2008

Congratulations to Michael Fitzgerald, Dr. Mc Closkey Crescent, Glenties who ran last October in the Dublin City Marathon in aid of the Donegal Branch of the Alzheimer Society and raised 2,000Euro. Well done Michael.

The Alzheimer Society wish to thank everyone who contributed and helped out in the recent collection. The amount raised was 814.86 Euro. Thank You.

There will be a meeting of Glenties Parish Council on Thursday evening 13th March in the Highlands Hotel at 9.00p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Due to St. Patrick’s Day falling on Holy Week, the Masses for St. Patrick’s Day will be celebrated in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Friday 14th March at 7.30p.m. and Saturday 15th March at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. The 11 a.m. Mass will be in Irish. Mass for St. Patrick’s Day will be celebrated in The Church of the Holy Family, Edeninfagh at 9.30 a.m. on Saturday 15th March.

Next Sunday 16th March, Easter Confessions will be immediately after the 9.30 Mass in the Church of the Holy Family, Edeninfagh.

Naomh Conaill Club membership is now due and should be paid before 31st March. Adult membership is 30 Euro and underage membership is 10 Euro. There is also the 100 Euro subscription, which includes club membership and entry into the weekly club Lotto. We would like to encourage all members, parents and anyone living away from home to take up this offer in supporting the club. Membership forms can be got in Mc Glincheys or from any club officer.

Thank you to everyone who helped and supported Daffodil Day on Friday 7th March. The amount raised in our area was 3702.32 Euro. Well done.
