Glenties Notes 19th July 2012

Sympathy:
Sincere sympathy is extended to Ann (Mc Gill) Breslin and family, Straboy, Glenties on the death of Ann’s aunt Nora Mc Gill, Fintown and formerly of Glenleighan, who died in LetterkennyHospital on Saturday 14th July 2012; also to her brother Packie Mc Gill and family, Fintown and all her relatives and friends. Nora enjoyed good health until a few weeks ago.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Mary, Jimmy and Patrick Campbell, Main Street, Glenties on the recent death of their uncle, Charlie Campbell, Lettermacaward; also to all his relatives and friends.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Bridget Kee and family, Mullantyboyle on the tragic death of Bridget’s nephew Jamie Toner who died as a result of a tractor accident; also to his parents and the extended family.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Francie Boyle, Ard Patrick and Brian Boyle, Letterilly, Glenties on the death of their sister, Philomena Histon, which took place last week; also to all the relatives and friends. Burial in Greenock on Tuesday 24th July 2012.

The winners at the Bingo in the Community Centre, Glenties on Tuesday 10th July were – Eilish Mc Nulty won € 300; Ann Mc Hugh, Glengesh, Jamsie Byrne, Maas, Eamon Byrne, Ardara, Jean Sweeney, Dungloe, Rose Cunningham, Dunkineely, Nancy Mc Gill, Mill Road and Bernie Fitzpatrick won € 100 each; Maeve Gillespie, Michael Woodside, Gerry Doherty, Patsy Browne, Rosemary Whelan, Ardara, Teresa Mc Kelvey, Fintown, Emma Mc Dyre, Bernadette Mc Devitt, Tullyard, Mary Furey, Eimear Doherty, Nancy Mc Gill, Mary Gallagher, Clare Keeney, Ryan Hunter won € 50 each; Helen Mc Dyre, Maas, Dim Melly, Majella Cunningham, Teresa Glackin, Dungloe and Bridie Doherty, Mill Road won € 25 each.

Big Bingo in Glenties Community Centre on Tuesday 31st July 2012; Lines € 100; Houses € 300; Jackpot € 2000; Books Singles € 25; Doubles € 40; includes Jackpot Sheet; Extra Jackpot Sheet € 5.

Fund Raising Events:
The following events in aid of the Kidney Dialysis Unit in Letterkenny Hospital will take place from The Glen Tavern “Dinnys” this weekend; Friday 20th July – Table Quiz at 9 p.m.; Saturday 21st – 10k Walk / Run at 12 noon; Tractor Run at 4 p.m.; Sunday 22nd Honda 50 Run at 12 noon.

Church Gate Collection:
The collection taken up in Edeninfagh in aid of The Irish Wheelchair Association amounted to € 133. Sincere thanks to all who made a donation.

Graveyard Mass in Edeninfagh:
Mass will be celebrated in Edeninfagh Graveyard on Sunday 5th August at 3 p.m.
