Bingo in Glenties Community Centre every Tuesday Night at 9pm. Jackpot €6500 on 45 numbers or less. If not won €300 will be paid out, €100 a house, €50 a line.

Glenties Community Centre Amalgamated Ltd CE Scheme has a vacancy for Horticultural workers and Museum workers.  C.E criteria applies.

Young Adults Conference
The Young Adults Conference takes place on Saturday 3rd June in St Eunan’s Cathedral, Conference Room from 10am to 5:30pm.  Excellent speakers and discussions, Mass and Adoration.  There will be an opportunity for Confessions. The recent collection for Cancer Care West amounted to €678.95 – Thank you to everyone for their generous support.

Classical Concert

Charity Tractor Run
The Patrick Byrne Memorial Tractor Run will take place on Sunday 4th June, leaving the GAA grounds at 2pm.  Registration from 12 Noon onwards.  All Vintage Vehicles and mocern tractors welcome.  Any queries contact Peter on 087 6847236 or Michael  on 087 1300834.  All proceeds in aid of the Donegal Hospice.

Registration at Glenties Playgroup
The Annual Registration of the Glenties Playgroup Limited will take place on Thursday 8th June at 8pm in the Playgroup Building, Glen Road, Glenties.  Any parent wishing to enrol their child / children must attend to secure their child’s place for the September term.  Children must be at least 2 years and 9 months old when they begin playgroup.  Please bring your child’s Birth Certificate, Immunisation Record Card and PPS Number of both parent and child.  We aim to keep the cost of our playgroup sessions affordable to all parents using our facility and the following discounts are available: family discount, families in receipt of Social Welfare payments, GP Card or Medical Card.  Parents can avail of subsidised childcare places if one parent is on a Community Employment Scheme, TUAS, FÁS or VEC Courses..
Free Preschool Year – The ECCE Programme is open to all children aged between 3 and 4 years and 6 months on 1st September.  Children can now be enrolled in December and April each year.  (Children can attend for either one or two years depending on the age and needs of the child and can attend  for a maximum of 5 days, 3 hours per week, free of charge).  Tea / coffee will be provided.  Looking forward to seeing you!

Graveyard Sunday
Mass will be celebrated in the New Graveyard on Sunday 2nd July at 3pm and in Edeninfagh Graveyard on Sunday 6th August also at 3pm.

Recent Bereavement
The death occurred recently of Sally McGuigan, 57 Ard Connell.  Known for her friendly demeanor and caring nature, Sally will be sadly missed by the Glenties community and beyond.  She is survived by her husband Patrick, daughter Amanda, sons Paul, Enda and Brian and a wide circle of friends, neighbours and relatives to whom sincere sympathy is extended.  Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

Paul Dawson MS Fundraiser
A ‘Relay for a Better Life’ will be held at the Comprehensive School pitch on Saturday 17th June at 10am.  Anyone who fancies joining in can contact Caroline Bonner on 086 8379072, Connie Bennett on 087 2400825 or Sally Bennett on 087 7702819.  Teams of four are not required as participants will be placed on a team after registration.  Donations collected on the day.

A reminder that our Music and Buffet night with Red Alert with food supplied by Carnaween House takes place in M25 on Friday 9th June.  A number of tickets are still available to buy in Glenties Post Office and Carnaween House.  Tickets are priced at €10.

Wedding Bells
The marriage took place in St Connell’s Church, Glenties on Saturday 27th May of Michelle McCahill, Derries and Shaun Melly, Dooey, Lettermacaward.  Michelle is the daughter of Bridie and the late Michael McCahill, Derries and Shaun is the son of Derrick Melly, Glenties and Martina McHugh, Castledoherty, Ardara. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Edeninfagh National School
Scoil Náisiúnta Éadan Fhionn Fhraoich will perform their All-Ireland winning play ‘An Eangach Thorthach’ for the local schools in the Community Centre, Glenties on Wednesday 14th June at 11:30am.  Any school wishing to attend are very welcome to do so.  The more the merrier!  An evening performance will then take place at 6pm for the general public.  We would love for you to come along and view this wonderful display by our very talented pupils.  Everyone welcome!  If you require further information, please telephone the school on 074 9551663 or email: edeninfagh@gmail.com.

Cash for Clobber
St Riaghan’s National School are holding a ‘Cash for Clobber’ collection at the school on Tuesday 20th June.  The school will receive a cash donation for each filled bag of clothes, paired shoes, handbags etc. they receive.  Filled bags can be left into the school on Monday 19th June or early on Tuesday morning before the collection.  For further information ring 074 9551591, 086 1798692 or email: striaghans@gmail.com.
