Glenties Notes 23rd July 2014

A Day for The Hospice:
On Sunday 27th July the Music Students of Anne Mc Dwyer are taking part in a “Piano – thon” to raise money for The Donegal Hospice. This is taking place in the Highlands Hotel, Glenties from 10 a.m. through to 6 p.m. All the students will be taking part and playing the piano throughout the day. Admission is by donation, so feel free to drop in. In the evening, there will be a more Formal Concert at 8 p.m. with performances by past and present senior students, with a raffle at the interval. Admission is € 10 to the Concert.

Bingo:
The winners at the Bingo in the Community Centre, Glenties on Tuesday 15th July 2014 were – € 40 Winner – Mr. Duffy; € 50 Winners – Nora Gallagher, Breid Roarty, Stephen Gallagher, Mary Ward, Kitty McGlynn, Anne Furey, Anne Kennedy, Angela Quinn, Patricia Molloy, Mary Gallagher, Teresa Bonner, Bella Boyle, Margaret Murray, Julie Molloy, Mary Ita Boyle and Emer Doherty, € 100 Winners – Sally McGuigan, Margaret Gallagher, Nan Doherty, Martina Cunningham, Patricia Molloy, Lettie Doherty and Cecelia Campbell; € 300 winner – Mary E Bonner.

The Change in Mass Times for next Week – there will be no 8.00 a.m. Mass on Sunday morning 27th July.

Simon Community Church Gate Collection:
North West Simon Community Church Gate Collection will be taken up next weekend. North West Simon Community works to prevent homelessness throughout CountyDonegal.

Water Safety Weeks 2014:
The annual Water Safety Weeks will take place in Narin and Portnoo during the weeks of Monday 28th July to Friday 1st August and Monday 4th to Friday 8th August. The aim of these weeks is to increase awareness of all aspects of sea swimming and water safety. All levels of beginners and swimmers are welcome; under the supervision of qualified instructors they will work towards a suitable certificate awarded by Irish Water Safety. Registration for all will take place at the beach at 9 a.m. on Monday 28th July and Monday 4thAugust, and a timetable will be given to the parents then.

Glenties Care of The Aged Collection:
The Annual Church Gate Collection taken up on 28th / 29th June for Glenties Care of The Aged amounted to € 915.00. Thank you for your generous support.

Graveyard Mass in Edeninfagh:
Mass will be celebrated in Edeninfagh Graveyard On Sunday 10th August at 3.00 p.m.:

Irish Wheelchair Association Collection:
The Collection for the Irish Wheelchair Association, taken up in Edeninfagh, amounted to € 85.12. Thanks to all who supported the collection.
