Glenties Notes 23rd October 2007

Congratulations to Con and Bríd Wright, Loughnabraddan, Fintown, who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently.

The annual Fireworks Display will take place on Narin Strand on Saturday 27th October at 9.00 p.m.  Contributions towards the cost of the fireworks will be welcome on the night.

A Pub Quiz in aid of the Ladies GAA will be held in Molloy’s Bar, Glenties on Friday 26th October at 9.00p.m.  Everyone is welcome and your support would be much appreciated.

It’s that time of year again when the witches and ghosts and all sorts of creatures will be out and about. The annual Halloween Ball takes place in The Limelight, Glenties on Sunday 28th October.  Music is by Keltic Kads and admission is 10 Euro.  Doors will open at 10 p.m.  There will be cash prizes for Group and Individual Costumes.  It is strictly for over 18s.  ID will be required.  Face Painting will be available in Molloy’s Bar from 8.00p.m. on Sunday evening.

Every Mass from Friday 2nd November until Saturday 10th November in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties and The Holy Family Church, Edeninfagh will be offered for those who are named in the Dead Lists.  Special envelopes containing Dead Lists are available at the door of the Church.  The completed lists should be returned next weekend to be placed on the Altar for the Masses.

The Friends of Letterkenny General Hospital Collection, which was taken up recently in Glenties amounted to 1,035.60 Euro and in Edeninfagh it amounted to 163.95 Euro. Many thanks to all those who supported this cause.

A very successful fundraising walk was held in Glenties on Sunday 7th October to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care in Letterkenny.  The total amount raised was 2,100 Euro.  A huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who participated or helped in any way

Congratulations to Noreen Mc Guinness, Ard Patrick, Glenties and Kevin Mc Naney, Moneymore, Co. Derry who were married in Edeninfagh on Saturday last.

ECDL Spreadsheets module is commencing in Glenties Community Centre on Thursday 1st November from 10a.m. – 1p.m.  Anyone interested in doing this module should contact this number – 086 3961533.  The cost for this module including exam is 50 Euro.
