Glenties Notes 27th February 2015

The Late Brendan Gallagher:
The death of Brendan Gallagher, Ard Connell, Glenties, took place at his home on Wednesday 18th February 2015. His Remains were brought to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Friday morning. Fr. Pat Prendergast celebrated Requiem Mass and burial took place afterwards in the New Graveyard. Brendan is survived by one brother, Patsy, and one niece, Laura and her husband, other relatives and friends to whom sincere sympathy is extended. His sister Mary and her husband Michael Kelly predeceased him.

Sympathy:
Sincere sympathy is extended to Breid, Teresa and Hugh Gallagher Gortnamucklagh, (formerly of Loughcrillen), Glenties, on the death of their sister Kathleen Hegarty, Carrick; also to Kathleen’s family, sisters, nieces, nephews and all other relatives and friends.

Bingo Winners:
The winners at the Bingo in the Community Centre, Glenties, on Tuesday 17th February were – € 25 Winners – Maureen Gildea and Marion Ward, €50 – Winners -Maggie Bonner, Mickey Herron, Breid Gallagher, Ken Hamilton, Helen Mc Dyer, Marion Ward, Breege Roarty, Renee Mulhern, Nellie Doherty, Bridie Doherty, Nan Doherty, Benny Mc Gill, Ann Byrne, Alice Brennan and Mary Furey; €100 Winners – Eileen Gallagher, James Melly, Sarah Gallagher, Johnny O’Donnell, Bernadette Mc Devitt, Margaret Reilly, Bridie Mc Groarty and Sarah Long; € 300 Winner- Adele Dooley.

Mindfulness:
This 6-week course is an introduction to the practice of mindfulness. Starting Wednesday 25th February 7.30 – 9.00 in the Day Care Centre, Dr. McCloskey Crescent, Glenties. You will learn simple techniques to live in the present relax and manage stress.

Collection:
The Bluestack Special Needs Foundation Church Gate Collection in Edeninfagh amounted to € 90.00. Thank you for your donations.

The Bluestack Special Needs Foundation Church Gate Collection in Glenties amounted to € 217.69. Thank you for your donations.

Day Centre Dinner Dance:
The Committee would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended the function, those who gave donations and spot prizes, and to everyone who helped to make it a success. The total raised was € 2, 150.00. The Committee is very grateful for your generosity.

First Holy Communion:
Children from Scoil Mhuire, St. Riaghan’s, Drimnacrosh and KilkennyN.S. will receive their First Holy Communion at 11.00 a.m. Mass in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Saturday 25th April.
