Glenties Notes 31st March 2008

On Saturday 15th March 2008 Brendan Mc Geehan and Brenda Molloy were married in St. Crona’s Church, Dungloe. Fr. Seamus Gallagher assisted by Fr. Gerard Cunningham and Fr. Kevin Gillespie officiated and concelebrated Nuptial Mass. Brendan is a son of Owen and Jennie Mc Geehan, Meenmore East, Fintown and Brenda is a daughter of Pat and Breid Molloy, Tangavane, Dungloe. Her father gave the bride away and she was attended by her two friends, Geraldine Bonner and Diane Byrne. Derek Mc Geehan, brother of the groom was bestman and another brother, Rory was groomsman. Niamh Mc Geehan Bonner, niece of the groom, was a flowergirl. Ciaran and Patrick Molloy, nephews of the bride and Paul O’Donnell, her cousin were pageboys. Readings were by Hugh Martin Molloy, brother of the bride and Adrian Mc Geehan, brother of the groom. Mairead and Kieran Mc Geehan, Helen Marie O’ Donnell and John Browne read Prayers of the Faithful. The Gifts were brought to the Altar by Bried Molloy and Jennie Mc Geehan, mothers of the bride and groom. A Reflection was read by Barry Mc Geehan. Music and singing was by Jimmy Molloy, Jenifer and Sara Laughlin and Dara Gillen. The reception was held in the Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny and the honeymoon was spent in Florida. Congratulations and best wishes to the happy couple.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the relatives and friends of Phil Boyle, Rathangan, Co. Kildare and formerly of Maas, Glenties, who died on Saturday 29th March 2008 and was buried in Rathangan on Monday last.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the wife and family, sisters, brothers, other relatives and friends of Dr. Frank E. Curran, Killybegs, who died on Sunday 30th March 2008. Dr. Curran, a native of Glenties was a son of the late John and Annie Curran, Church Road, Glenties.
