S.N. Cholmcille, Fintown:
A’ Cash for Clobber Collection’ will take place at the school on Tuesday 11th June. The school will receive a cash donation for each well filled ‘Cash for Clobber’ or bin liner size bag. Money collected will go towards school funds. Filled bags can be brought to the school on Friday 7th June or Monday 10th June. This collection is a good opportunity to get rid of unwanted clothes, shoes and textiles. Empty Cash for Clobber bags are available at the school. Charity Walk / Run:
The Annie Behan 10 k. Walk / Run in aid of Donegal Hospice will take place on Saturday 15th June 2013; leaving The Highlands Hotel, Glenties at 11.30 a.m. Donations welcome. Please Support. Contact Joe on 087 6766087 for more information.
Glenties Playgroup / Afterschool:
The annual registration of the Glenties Playgroup / Afterschool will take place in the Pre-school building, Glen Road, Glenties. Any parent wishing to enrol their child / children must attend on the night to secure a place for the September term. To enrol for pre-school children must be 2 years and ten months and potty trained. Parents must bring in their child’s Immunisation Record Card to comply with Health Board Regulations. The Afterschool operates on a Thursday and Friday from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. There is a school pick up from Scoil Mhuire at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
ECCE Scheme:
Children born between 2nd February 2009 – 30th June 2010 will qualify under the ECCE scheme for a free place in the Preschool in September for 38 weeks. Please bring in your child’s birth certificate.
CCS Scheme:
For Preschool and Afterschool – this scheme supports families in low paid employment and in training and education by enabling parents to avail of reduced childcare costs. To avail of this scheme, children must be registered in the service in September / October.
CETS Scheme:
When parents are on FAS or VEC training programmes discount is available. Contact Bridie on 9151907 for more information.
Bingo:
The winners at the bingo in the Community Centre, Glenties on Tuesday 28th May 2013 were – € 35 winner – Margo Gallagher; € 50 winners – Philomena Mc Cailig, Neil Byrne, Jimmy Quinn, Stella Rafferty, Hugh Gallagher, Hugo Mc Dyre Breidin Keeney, Dim Melly, Winnie Long, Kitty Mc Glynn, Maureen Gildea, Mary Howard, Brown Kid, Sinead Sweeney, Norah Phildy and John Mc Daid; € 70 winner – Anne Hegarty; € 100 winners – Margaret Murray, Hugh Gallagher, Mary Gough, Rose Boyle, Mickey Herron, Mary Howard and Bridie Gallagher.
Vigil for Life:
A Vigil for Life will be held in Merrion Square, Dublin on Saturday 8th June from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. A bus (which will be free of charge), will leave Glenties at 8.30 a.m. To book a seat on the bus, please contact Noreen Feeney 087 7456087.
Rossnowlagh – Blessing of Lillies:
A bus will leave Mc Guinness’ Café at 6 p.m. on the Feast of St Anthony, Thursday 13th June, for Mass in Rossnowlagh and Blessing of Lillies. Newcomers welcome
Féile Collection:
Thank You to everyone who contributed to the Naomh Conaill Féile Collection on the weekend of 5th May. The amount raised was € 614. Thank you very much.
Wedding Bells:
Congratulations to Hugh Shovlin and Florence Mavunga on their recent marriage in Chelmsford, England. Hugh is the son of Charles and Grace Shovlin, Kilraine, Glenties and Florence is the daughter of Sherpard Mavunga and the late Rudo Gunda, Zimbabwe.
