Glenties Notes 8th March 2014

Wedding Bells:
Congratulations to Brenda Doherty and Stephen Molloy, who were married in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Saturday 22nd February 2014. Brenda is a daughter of Patrick and Anne Doherty, Meenahalla, Glenties and Stephen is a son of Martin and Teresa Molloy, Fintown. Her sister Pauline, cousin, Tanya Doherty and a friend, Cliona Henna attended her. A friend of the groom, Darragh Gallagher was bestman, the groom’s brother, John Molloy and cousin Paddy were groomsmen and the reception was held in the Silver Tassie, Hotel, Letterkenny.

Sympathy:
Sincere sympathy is extended to Ronan Molloy and family, Mill Road, Glenties on the death of Ronan’s father, John Molloy, Ardara, which took place in Harbour Lights Nursing Home on Wednesday 19th February 2014; also to the other members of the family and to all the relatives and friends.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Geraldine, Kennedy, Glenties Furnishings, Glenties on the death on Tuesday 25th February 2014 of her aunt, Frances Kennedy, Kilclooney, Portnoo, which took place in Harbour Lights Nursing Home, Bruckless; also to all other relatives and friends.

The Late Jim Shovlin:
The death took place in Harbour Lights Nursing Home, Bruckless on Monday 24th February 2014 of Jim Shovlin, Tullyard, Glenties. His Remains were brought to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Tuesday evening and burial took place on Wednesday after RequiemMass. at 11 a.m. Sincere sympathy is extended to his sister Kathleen Gildea and family, Ardara and all his relatives and friends.

The Late Martin Mc Dyre:
The death took place on Thursday 27th February, in The Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny of Martin Mc Dyre, Meenahalla, Glenties. His Remains were brought to his home later that day and to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Sunday afternoon. Requiem Mass was celebrated at 12.30 p.m. Martin is survived by his wife, Eileen, sons, Reese and Manus, mother, Mamie, sisters Ursula and Bernie, uncle, Hugo Mc Dyre and aunt Kitty Mooney, other relatives and many friends to whom sincere sympathy is extended.

Bingo:

Naomh Conaill Casino Night:
The Naomh Conaill Casino night which was postponed last Saturday night will go ahead this Saturday night 8th March, so get the Glad-rags on and come out and enjoy a great night’s entertainment. Some tickets are still available from the organising committee priced at €15.

“Due to the sad passing of our friend and club member, Martin Mc Dyer, our Casino night has been re-scheduled for next Saturday night, 8th March.”
