Glenties Notes on 12th March 2007

On Friday 16th March a ‘Night at the Races’ will be held in Keeney’s Bar Glenties in aid of the Lifeboats at 10.00p.m.  Everyone is welcome. 

 

The 11.00a.m. Mass on Sunday 18th March will be celebrated as the Family Mass.  The Theme of the Mass will be “Mother’s Day”.

 

Sincere sympathy is extended to Frank Mc Donnell, Glen road, Glenties on the death of his father, Frank Mc Donnell, Monaghan, which took place last week.

 

Congratulations to Declan Bonner, Glen road, Glenties and Isobel Cunningham, Ardara, who got engaged recently.

 

On Saturday 3rd March 2007 Caroline Doherty and Gerard Cannon were married in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties.  Fr. Pat Prendergast assisted by Fr. Eddie Gallagher and Fr. Paul Mc Geehan officiated and concelebrated Nuptial Mass.  Caroline is a daughter of Paddy and Bridie Doherty, Mill Road, Glenties and Gerard is a son of Máire and the late Sean Cannon, Glencolmcille. The bride was given away by her father and she was attended by her sisters Anita Doherty and Breege Mc Ginty.  Brother of the groom, Brendan Cannon was bestman and another brother, Ciaran was groomsman.  Emma Doherty, niece of the bride was flowergirl.  Oin Burke, nephew of the groom and Dylan Doherty, nephew of the bride were pageboys.  Readings were by Patrick G. Doherty, brother of the bride and Caroline Cannon, sister of the groom.  Prayers of the Faithful were read by Pauline and Brenda Doherty and Majella Cody.  The Gifts were brought to the Altar by both mothers.  A reflection was read by Tanya Doherty, niece of the bride.  Angela Flanagan was the soloist.  The reception was held in The Court Hotel, Gweedore and the honeymoon is being spent in Dubai.
