Glenties Notes on 5th March 2007
Congratulations to Caroline Doherty, Mill Road, Glenties and Gerard Cannon, Malinmore, Glencolmcille who were married in Glenties on Saturday last.
The death took place in LetterkennyHospital on Wednesday 28th February 2007 of Anthony Boyle, Mullanmore, Glenties. His remains were brought to his home on Thursday and to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Saturday morning. Fr. Paul Gallagher C.C. Glenties and Fr. Denis Quinn P.P. Falcarragh concelebrated RequiemMass. Readings were by his nephew, Terence Mc Cormick and Prayers of the Faithful were read by a neighbour, Andrea Molloy. The Gifts were brought to the Altar by grandniece, Jenifer and grandnephew Joseph. Music and singing were by Sr. Immaculata and Nora Gallagher. Burial took place in the New Graveyard. He is survived by one brother, James, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, to whom sincere sympathy is extended. Five brothers, Paddy, Hugh, Danny, John and Joe and two sisters, Bridget and Mary predeceased him. Anthony spent some time in England and a number of years in America before returning to his native Mullanmore in 1991.
Sincere sympathy is extended to Una Hegarty, Mullantyboyle, Glenties on the death recently in DungloeHospital, of her brother Eddie Boyle, Bunaman, Annagry.
Sincere sympathy is extended to the relatives and friends of Bridget Boyle, Loughnabraddan, Fintown who died recently.
Sincere sympathy is extended to Jean Campbell, Ard Patrick, on the death of her mother and to Annie Boyle, Narin Road, Glenties on the death of her sister, Nellie Moy, Glenfin(formerly Mc Loone, The Croaghs), which took place last week; also to all the relatives and friends.
A public meeting will be held in the Highlands Hotel, Glenties on Monday 12th March at 8.00p.m. The topic under discussion will be – Support for Deirdre Grants Project – (Community run Breast screening unit for Donegal). Everyone is welcome. `
DLDC’s Rural Resource Worker Garvan Connolly, will be available to provide information and advice on various agricultural schemes & social welfare entitlements for farming / fishing families. Garvan will also be available to provide information on other services provided by Donegal Local Development Company such as Enterprise Start Up, Community Development, the LEADER+ and National Rural Development Programmes, CLAR, Community Based Youth Initiative, Job Club, Job Initiative, Regional Employment Service &Rural Social Scheme. There will be an Evening of Prayer and Testimony by Arthur Mc Closkey entitled, “My Healing from Gambling and Alcohol in Medjugorje” in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties next Sunday 11th March at 8.00p.m. Everyone is welcome.
