Glenties Notes on 26th February 2007

Congratulations to our U – 21 team, who won the county final against Killybegs in Ballybofey last Saturday 24th February.

 

Sincere sympathy is extended to the relatives and friends of Kathleen Beasley (nee Campbell), who died in England on Friday 23rd February 2007.  Kathleen was a daughter of the late Neil and Mary Campbell, formerly of Church Road, Glenties.

 

Congratulations to Stephen Mc Cahill, Ardara who was among the winners of the Donegal County Council / Rehab “People of the Year “ Awards for 2006. Stephen is a native of Derries, Glenties and is a very deserving winner.  Congratulations also to Conal Shovlin, Sandfield who is another very deserving award winner.

 

The next Table Quiz, in aid of the Comprehensive School Students Trip to Medjugorje, will be held in the Highlands Hotel, Glenties on Tuesday 6th March.  Your support would be greatly appreciated.

 

A collection of clothes, books, videos, CDs, jewellery, unwanted gifts and bric-a-brac in aid of the Charity Shop, Market Square, Letterkenny, run by the Jason Clarke Foundation for Brain Injury will be taken up at Glenties Community Centre on Wednesday 14th March from 12 noon – 2.00p.m.  This is an organization that sends people with brain injury to China for treatment.  Contact numbers are 087 2602842 and 074 9121787.
