Glenties Notes on 4th June 2007
Congratulations to all the students in St. Columba’s Comprehensive School, Glenties who received awards at their annual Presentation Dance in the Highlands Hotel on Friday 25th May 2007, especially Claire Reid, Tullyard Road, Glenties and Ciaran Boyle, Glen Road, Glenties who got the ‘Student of the Year’ awards.

The annual Cake, Book and Video Sale in aid of the 6th Class Activity Tour will be held in the Community Centre, Glenties on Saturday evening 16th June after 7.30p.m. Mass. Your support is greatly appreciated. Donations of cakes, books and videos are very welcome.
The Corpus Christi Procession is a continuation of the Celebration of the Eucharist. Immediately after Mass, the Sacred Host, consecrated during the Mass, is borne out of the Church to allow the Christian faithful to “make public profession of faith and worship of the Most Blessed Sacrament”. At the end of the 11.00a.m. Mass on Sunday 10th June we will process from the Church to the Grotto for Benediction (weather permitting). The people who are usually involved in the carrying of the canopy are asked to make themselves available, as well as those who usually steward the procession. The First Holy Communion Children are invited to walk in the Procession in their First Holy Communion Dress.
Congratulations to Teresa Mc Dermott, Meenagrubby and Philip Boyle, Dooey, who were married in Edeninfagh on Saturday last.
The annual registration of children who wish to attend Preschool / Afterschool for new term ~September ’07 ~ June ’08 will take place on Friday 8th June at 8 o’clock in the Pre-school Building. Parents who wish to enrol their child / children must attend on that evening to secure a place for their child and must bring their child / children’s immunisation record card with them. A registration fee of 20 Euro per family is also payable on the evening.
