Glenties Notes on July 25th 2002

Congratulations to Barney and Mary Keeney, Drimnacrosh, Glenties, who celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary recently. Congratulations to Peter and Kathleen Gallagher, Main Street, Glenties who celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary last week.

The death took place in Strangriff Nursing Home, Stranorlar on Tuesday 16th July 2002 of Denis (Dinny) Molloy, Glen Road, Glenties. His remains were brought to his son Phelim’s home later that day and to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Wednesday evening, where Fr. Prendergast received them. Fr. Prendergast, Glenties, Fr. Gerard Cunningham, Letterkenny, Fr. Willie Peoples and Fr. Adrian Gavigan Donegal concelebrated Requiem Mass. Burial took place in the New Graveyard. Dinny’s wife Annie predeceased him about twenty eight years ago. He is survived by two daughters, Rosemary and Anne, six sons, James, Pat, Phelim, Gerry, Danny and Vincent, four brothers, Danny, Packie, Jim and Phil, two sisters, Bella and Rosie, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends, to whom sincere sympathy is extended.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the relatives of Mary Craig, Stranaglough, Glenties, (wife of Terence) who died at her home early on Saturday morning 20th July.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Margo Gallagher, The Rock, Glenties and Maureen Stewart, Highlands Hotel on the death of their mother, Ellen Stewart, Curraghmone, Ballybofey, which took place in the Mater Hospital, Dublin last week.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the relatives and friends of Peter O’Donnell, formerly of Aughla, Glenties, who died in Bristol, England last week. Peter was a brother of the late Bella Mc Fadden, Glenties.

Mass will be celebrated in the New Graveyard, Glenties next Sunday 28th July at 3.00p.m.

Mass will be celebrated in the Old Graveyard on the Glen Road on Tuesday evening 23rd July at 7.30p.m.
